I mean, just stating the obvious. OM is fun, but there are limitations. If you don’t see that…

Are you retarded? ole miss is absolutely fricking loaded next season.
Do you seriously think OM has better players than Bama or Georgia? Did you steal their starters? No. Do you have better coaches? Absolutely not.
OM was nowhere close to challenging for the SEC this year. And some P5 portal transfers from mid-SEC or mid-Big10 schools aren't going to make up the difference. Their starters who have been in the program for 2-3 years are better than your new transfers.
You may have solidified your place in the top 15, which is a lot better than State is right now, congrats, but don't delude yourself to thinking you can challenge any of the top teams. Hell, you barely beat a bad State team. And State was better than you just a year ago.

Ole Miss goes 8-5 unranked, then goes 10-2, ranked #13 in the computer rankings after beating several bad teams by 3-10 points, and suddenly they are competing for championships. BS.
My favorite part of this is bringing up the previous season’s record to downplay ole miss but ignoring the 10 win season before that. Classic meddog.

Kiffin does appear to be adding quality talent. The challenge will be depth: what happens when a starter goes down?

Love it. This is a school that had never experienced 10 wins and within a couple of years did that and will be in the playoffs and contending for a championship.

This isn’t a bad bet, but your comment is the risk in making it. As stated multiple times, we’re bringing back our entire veteran offense and playmakers, look to have arguably one of the best defensive fronts we’ve ever had thanks to portal magic, a favorable schedule, etc, etc.
In the end it will come down to how our injury list looks in November. Our 1’s will be able to go toe to toe with just about anyone in the country next year, but as always we won’t have the depth of a Bama/Georgia which is proven to be key in winning championships. As long as we can stay healthy, which is easier said than done, then we’re probably in our best position to make a run for it since the 60’s.

Depth will be an issue but due to the portal it's an issue for everyone. Bama and UGA will still have 5 and 4 star frosh coming off the bench but they no longer have the 5 star who has sat for 2 or 3 years waiting his turn. I'm not declaring us a top 5 team or anything cause schools like bama, uga, osu and texas still have so much more talent but we have closed the gap a little with the portal additions. There's not a better offensive play caller than kiffin so that gives us an advantage. We could either stick with what we were doing and praying we could get lucky and win 9 or 10 games or go all in to make a run. Props to the staff and money people.
