If you take a North Carolina team it has to be State. UNCs wine and cheese, raised pinky crowd just doesn't fit.

I'm down with the Wolfpack. Virginia TECH and NC State would be fine. Move Mizzou to the west. 16 teams. Perfect.

The secondary accomplishment to accepting V Tech and either NC or NC State (can you say NCS?) would be taking them away from the ACC. V Tech is one of the ACC's better football programs. NC is one of their best all-around athletic departments. NCS is a better football catch than NC.

I have talked to a fair amount of Hokies btw and almost to a man they've told me that they'd join the SEC in a minute.

Texas is Ebola for conferences. In the event that you do bring them in I pray it is Arkansas getting swapped out. Y'all are squirting lighter fluid on your peckers and flicking matches at 'em with that idea. You don't realize the pain you are opening yourself up too.

Yeah, I admit, I'd feel horrible about leaving the Aggies and Mizzou behind since both of those schools thought they had escaped. That having been said, to avoid putting up with Texas I'd cheerfully throw any other school under the bus.

I like what we have. Mizzou in the west would be a great change if we can work that, otherwise don't fix what isn't broken.

Athletically as powerful as UNC? That makes no sense.

Revenue generating potential is code for powerful. More national of a brand, more championship potential, more viewership, more interesting matchups. However you want to slice it.

You are so wrong. I would not replace any team. But I would, within legal limits, let UNC and Virginia know they would be welcome. Each brings a huge value, even if UNC has to play Duke every year.

They are a blue blood in basketball and if they were in the SEC they'd be a much better football program than Mississippi State.

You guys are nuts. UNC would be a better fit in the big 10 than the SEC.

I haven't advocated REPLACING anyone. Others are doing that; the OP did ask for it. But like you I wouldn't think of doing so. I've posted 2 or 3 entries in this thread calling for the ADDITION of Virginia Tech and either NC or NC State. With each of these posts I've stated "16 teams" and advocated moving Missouri to the west.

Missouri belongs in the west. All my maps say so.

Virginia Tech belongs in the SEC. A lot of Hokies think so.

Getting the North Carolina market would be good for business. Economics 101 says so.

And finally, Virginia and North Carolina are the only Confederate states NOT in the SEC (thanks to the recent addition of A&M), but this really doesn't matter. Any idiot would say so.

Maybe replace University of Auburn with a school that has more integrity like say SMU or Miami (FL).
