In radio appearances, Richt used to say his wife and kids always celebrated hitting the bowl eligible mark and everytime he said that I wanted to

I agree, but this isn't really a rules thing. There are too many bowl games and not enough good teams to fill them. In many years a 5-7 team qualifies because of Academic Progress Rate. So... fewer bowl games is the obvious answer. Good luck with that!

Kill all transfer waivers. Any player that has not graduated has to sit a year before they can play at their new school.

That bullshite where one team commits multiple fouls on one play and the other team commits one, how in the frick does that mean they cancel out each other?

Targeting shouldn’t get you ejected from a game. If you have 2 in one game then you can be ejected. Like unsportsmanlike conduct penalties

Just bench the guy for the next 15 minutes (game clock), continued into the 1st quarter of his next game if it occurs in in the 4th quarter.

I smell a bunch of butt hurt Bammers that are still mad that Mark Ingram got hawked down in the 2010 IB and fumbled the ball down the sideline into the endzone. That ball did seem to bounce right on down the sideline for about 20 yards though.

Any play that ends with a dead ball in the end zone results in a change of possession.

We know the rule. It's stupid.
An incomplete pass out the endzone? No problem, 2nd down and 10, try again.
A fumble out the endzone shouldn't equate to a 4th and 15 sixty yard punt that is ruled a touchback. You're not going to convince me.

Yes, yes, yes.
This is the dumbest rule of all sports, except maybe a dropped 3rd strike and a batter can still run to first base.

Never understood the fumble rule. Fumble out at your own 2 yard line? No problem, you keep the ball. Fumble out at the opponents 2 yard line? Still no problem.
Oh, but get close enough to their goal line and fumble out? Nope, other team gets the ball for almost giving up a touchdown

Exactly, it's a penalty. Do not cross Go, do not collect $200. It should be allowed to level the playing field towards defenses in goal line stands. Don't reach that ball out so much, cause it might be costly if something were to happen to it.
Defenses need love too--with rules that favor them

ow do you get around Billy Bob's Used Car Lot paying a player to "use his likeness" $25,000 if he signs with UGA?

Who cares?

When a fumble goes forward into the end zone and then goes out of bounds (side or back of the end zone), it should not be ruled a touchback.

Could be worse. You could fumble the ball out of bounds inside the one yard line and have the refs rule it a touchback (see 2018 Clemson-aTm).

I would only allow 53 players to dress out on game day.

Bama has actually benefitted at least once from this rule.
In the 90's Bama was playing Tennessee and it was tied late in the game. UT was close to scoring, but fumbles out the endzone, Bama ball. With little time left, Bama was able to get to FG range and made the game winning FG.

Just curious, but what would this accomplish?

I think that was 2005.

It goes both ways. Alabama has benefited from it multiple times.

It's just a weird rule because possession is lost, never recovered by either team and yet it's awarded to the defense.

Aren’t you clever!! I think all Gator players should have to wear the number zero since that pretty much sums up the last decade of Gator football. I also propose that your fans wear mullets, Jorts and flip flops but since 90 percent all ready do that issue is already settled.
