Is this the point of the search already where fans of both schools will deride every single candidate as beneath them? I swear fanbases could have Vince Lombardi, Don Shula and Tom Landry in their primes all interviewing for their school's job and all we'd get is, "No way! We're not a place for someone to learn the college game at our program!"

If he leaves, why would he take FL over LSU?

It’s a demonstrably better job.

What about a man named Jed out in Seattle?

No it isn't, it's marginally better at best. But also, it's a job he's wanted, has familial ties to, and considering he himself said money won't be the determining factor, a job he's very much in play for.

He's got a little name value around here too. But I think it'd still be a tough sell.

If your program/university has money, boosters with money, commitment from the university & State, big metro area(s) to recruit on top of out of State recruiting ability, nice facilities etc, there is absolutely ZERO need to leave that institution for a “traditional blue blood” or “name brand” program” with a fanbase & boosters that are going to demand a very short & unreasonable turn around time, then demand your firing once that unreasonable goal is not reached. Long story short, Drink would be an idiot to leave Mizzou.

He's got major red flags, specifically on defense, but yes, in a heartbeat.

He has ties to Florida though doesn’t he? Wasn’t he there under SS?

I agree, he has it made. He'd also be walking into a situation with a very disappointed and skeptical fanbase, where the vast majority didn't want him to begin with. Not a wise move imo.

Last I saw he was in Beverly Hills living high on the hog. Now, if we talking double d, then he might pan out.
