Does it matter? If Alabama wins vs. FSU they’re in the exact same position they are now, in full control of their destiny.

Again, this is why Alabama is not ranked ahead of A&M and why they aren't #1 in the country. Nor do you see any Alabama fans claiming they should be.
We play Oklahoma this weekend and there is a decent chance we don't even win that game.
However, this is the same kind of argument/excuses G5 teams claim as to why they deserve to be considered for things.

Do they? Bama has won lots of trophies without going undefeated. OSU lost their last regular season game last year. It just seems A&M has a lot to learn about this winning thing. Hopefully your fans will catch on soon and start putting childish ways behind them. I’m not holding my breath, though.

I’m really not. I’ve said the entire time that A&M will have a chance to prove themselves, but they’ve proven very little to date. It’s the A&M fans that can’t understand this. Bama has built up equity and a coach who has been to the NC with less talent. A&M has none of these things.
They have to prove it if they want to be seen as real contenders, and a last second win over ND followed by beating teams with at least 4 losses isn’t proving it yet despite all the insecurities of the A&M fans. You’ll have your chance, but you can’t lose in Austin and expect respect.

The best part of this is the same ags who were saying we didn't deserve the playoffs last season because of our schedule are now defending a weak schedule.
Ags have a great team but the hypocrisy from them this year is priceless.
