But in reality, we should stay at 14. The only threat to SEC dominance are Oklahoma, tu, Miami, FSU, and Clemson. Keeping those teams in their weakened and marginalized conference is good for us. Especially with the 8 team playoff and autobid for conference champs looming. At that point those teams will be revitalized, and too large of a conference will really hurt us.
Screw that, I want FSU to finally play in a real football conference.

assuming the GORs are all ironclad, here is what kind of money some of the remaining schools brought in a couple years ago
and here is the SEC just for comparison
LINK
I would assume that any school which gained access to a power conference would immediately jump up in revenues just form conference TV deals alone. How much I am not sure and I am too lazy to look up every smaller conferences TV deals to do the math.

Then I'd rather hold off on expansion for awhile. That would be worse than when the Horsemen added Paul Roma or Steve McMichael.

What then you might actually win a game??

I was curious to see where Navy fell on that list of revenues (esp because of their culture and location).
Navy competing at the highest level is a stretch (the service requirement and potential danger to all people serving in the military make this so IMO) but they are at least an interesting team that might bring in a relevant market.

Thanks for the link!
You can tell A&M is a little more academically inclined because of their posters as compared with the rest of these SEC retards...
I'd like to hear about realistic alternatives from people...something besides North Carolina and Virginia, because that AIN'T happening any time soon....
The Truth is, we don't have as many options as most on here think we do, and if its MARKET-DRIVEN, than East Carolina and Cincinnati are the most respectable targets, besides some odd-ball addition of New Mexico and Colorado State to grab the Denver market...

My answer: SMU and Miami
that's a terrible idea....

I don't think Navy would ever join the SEC, especially not in all sports...I don't even think they're joining the new AAC in all sports. Don't they still have their other sports in the Colonial Conference? Navy and Army are leery of the big conferences because they know they can't compete. Army quit Conference-USA several years ago for this reason...
And rightly so, Navy would get murdered in the SEC East

Navy would not be competitive - I agree
I only brought them up because the list of available teams is fairly terrible.

I say we add Conference USA and The Sun Belt conference as official minor leagues of the SEC. Then every year the bottom two teams in every sport will get "relegated" down. After the first year the top team in CUSA and the Sun Belt will get brought up into the SEC. This will leave the SEC as a nice 12 team conference, and it will provide a mess of programming for the new SEC network.

In the perfect world UNC and Va Tech. In reality the ACC is locked down, so once the Big-12 finally implodes (the "Texoma 4" head west to the PAC) we will pick up Kansas State and WVU.
