Using all 16 SEC home football stadiums as the 16 World Cup venues:

Venue group
Combined capacity
Average venue

2026 World Cup stadiums
1,033,829 total
64,614 avg

SEC stadiums
1,307,947 total
81,747 avg

Increase
274,118
17,132

Bottom line
An SEC-hosted World Cup would have approximately 274,000 additional seats, a 26.5% increase over the official capacities of this year’s 16 World Cup stadiums.

That is roughly the equivalent of adding four more average-sized 2026 World Cup venues without increasing the number of stadiums.

Problem is a lot of our stadiums are old with concrete bases with seating right up by the field, making them too narrow for a soccer game and not able to remove seating to fix that issue

I have never cared about the Stadium itself.... The Rose Bowl is the greatest game I have ever attended and best experience...... I have been to just about every major NFL, Nascar, and MLB stadium.... Beer, hot dog, and bag of peanuts is the same experience in any stadium....

Soccer doesn't need all the fancy clubs as they don't leave the stands...... Spend a ton of money on travel and tickets to be in the bathroom when they score the most excited single goal of the near 100 minute games......

Fair enough, but it's day is coming... I thought CTE would do football in by itself but add the portal and NIL and obscene ticket prices to the list and it's day is coming... And I hate that, wish they left CF alone.

Yeah I’ve been to games at Man U and Man City. Stadiums are nothing special as far as amenities and their fans don’t care
