ACC for VOLS. Much better college towns than half the shite holes in this conference and would make sense for a basketball powerhouse to make that move.

And exactly what is the incentive to play Bama with a RETURN game vs a P5 cupcake?

As I said, the future of scheduling is playing all 12 games against P5 teams, conference and non-conference. In the playoff era SOS is being factored in because teams are getting left out.
There's already been talk of this by prominent CFB people.

BS NONE could do it and fill out their schedule and get the revenue they get now

As stated, these schools would have no problem filling a schedule.
Notre Dame inked a contract worth $15 million a year with NBC back in 2013 in addition, to about $6 million from ESPN. These schools could easily demand more.

I have no idea of the context and when the game was played. Please give me a date and time.

It's in the link I provided.

Not really it's geared towards FBS morso than P5 but once again, why put a probable loss on the schedule?

Like who?

With what type of schedule?

Once again, why did so many prominent schools give up Independent status in the 90's?

Being in a big time conference with a huge TV contract is their best and only option.

We don't need no conference. Why we can't be independent? Notre Dame is. And we way more important than them. But if we went to another conference that conference would turn into the best just like what we made the SEC.

Why wouldn't all the former SEC schools just form a new conference?

PAC-12. Great road trips, better schools, better fans.

I'm sorry, but after our bout with USC back in 2016 in Dallas, I can unequivocally say I'll tailgate with those guys any day over what most have in the SEC.

We setup next to a tailgate of about 20 USC guys and girls. Not only were the well-versed on football, they were also super interesting people. One guy had a tech-startup he recently sold to google. The other two were starting a new division of a private equity firm. It was fun to mix in something other than recruiting, or message board rumors. They loved their Trojans, and go to almost every game. But there was a level of "dude, it's just amateur sports," I actually admired.

We whooped their arse that day on the field, but those guys likely got back on the plane to LAX, scooted over to beautiful Santa Monica, and got back to doing some cool ish.

ACC. Only other conference that makes sense for Kentucky.

I see folks, from within and without, throw us into the ring to fit into the B1G. Outside of Indiana, we have absolutely zero ties/interest/commonality with that conference. Sure, we share a border with Ohio and Illinois also, but there really is a large difference between folks on the Northern and Southern side of the Ohio river.

No, besides the regional convenience, we do have natural existing rivalries in basketball with UNC and Duke, plus Louisville is there now. Several other good basketball schools there as well. That would be a silver lining for me though, I'm a football first guy. And I also love our historical rivalries in the SEC. Tennessee, Vanderbilt, then long stretches where schools stepped up like Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Mississippi State, etc.

For me, UK would probably add a win or two many seasons playing in the ACC in football. They have excellent baseball tradition as well. Since those are the two sports I care most about, it's important to me to go to a conference where the opponents are compelling, and the quality of play is worthwhile. ACC football is doodoo right now, but its all cyclical.
