If the playoff committee is basing teams off of injuries

Then this is really troubling. The committee said since FSU lost their starting QB to an injury then they’re unworthy despite going 13-0 and finding ways to win.
It’s football, injuries happen

Jordan Travis breaking his leg doomed florida st. they would've gotten in if he wasn't on crutches. tough break. literally.

Its part of the criteria they are told to consider. Its not troubling at all.

They also watched FSU play all season, unlike most people here. They didn’t look good.
Edit: their injured QB making hero plays was their primary offense.

But only certain injuries and only for certain teams.
Does anyone believe an undefeated Alabama with a 2nd string QB (and a great playing defense) would be left out?
Or Georgia? Or Ohio St?
The bigger devil here is money. The committee exists to ensure TV makes the most money with the right matchups.

Michigan is just upset that they have to play a real game rather than the bye week they were hoping for.

the CFB playoff committee wants to put teams in that are competitive, not deserving. they want eyeballs on screens to sell ads. florida st backup QB doesn't move the needle for ratings, and that's what this is about.

The difference is we all saw the backup at FSU play against Florida, and it wasn’t pretty.

Like Alabama in weeks 2, 3, 7, and 13?
Speaking of injuries, since the committee bases expected results and team value on them, should we think less of Alabama for playing Georgia with two key injuries at TE and WR?

florida st WON all of their games. in a fair world they'd be in over a team who didn't win all of their games. but it's not about fairness, it's about money.

Agreed. They watched that disaster Saturday night & decided, like most other people, FSU was not one of the four best teams. Now we get a Saban-Harbaugh matchup which is great.

I bet you honor UCF’s national championship with your fairness

What’s really funny is that when you tell someone that FSU deserved to get in, they point to SOS
When every single solitary soul on this board knows that if Travis never got hurt FSU was in, so SOS was literally a non factor

It’s literally written into the criteria that all the conferences, and therefore the school presidents and ADs agreed on.
It sucks. No doubt about that, but according to the agreed upon rules, it is something the committee considers.

A Heisman Trophy QB candidate at that!! And anybody that watched FSU after he got hurt and still believed they would stay on the field with any of the top 6-8 teams doesn't know much about the game.

Maybe, they might’ve just harped on SoS to keep them out instead of injuries

look im not arguing with you. it's not about fairness. that's not how the system is currently setup. the committee is there to put the best product on the field for advertisers. jordan travis breaking his leg took FSU out of the conversation.

I mean maybe, but they wouldn’t need to do that. As others have said, injuries are part of the criteria, so there’s really no need to default to a phony SOS argument that we all know would have played no role with Travis healthy
