Why is Mizzou in the East an absurdity?
They share a common border with Tennessee and Kentucky.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Yep.
Just look at it as a Northeast and Southwest division.
It makes sense.

I was hoping with all the realignment the UF-Auburn game would become an annual rivalry again. There are 82 games between us, it should be played every year.

LSU - Florida, Kentucky
Auburn - Georgia, Florida
Alabama - Tennessee, Vanderbilt
Ole Miss - Vanderbilt, Tennessee
Mississippi State - Kentucky, South Carolina
Arkansas - South Carolina, Missouri
Texas A&M - Missouri, Georgia
Florida - LSU, Auburn
Georgia - Auburn, Texas A&M
Tennessee - Alabama, Ole Miss
South Carolina - Arkansas, Mississippi State
Kentucky - Mississippi State, LSU
Vanderbilt - Ole Miss, Alabama
Missouri - Texas A&M, Arkansas
This is what it would look like if there were 2 permanent rivalries, with the first team listed being the team's one current permanent rival.
ETA: No way Auburn should have to play Florida and Georgia each year while Alabama plays Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
Conversely, it would be pretty even among the Big 3 in the East, with Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee all facing comparable competition from the West.

9 games could start the downfall of the SEC.
Just curious how this is the downfall of the SEC? Getting an extra conference game instead of watching a tune-up cupcake match sounds amazing.
Sure, you could argue that it creates an extra chance for a loss/hurts chances of getting to the 'ship, but the B1G & ACC already have plans to go to 9 and I have read the Pac 12 will likely do the same so that argument goes out the window.

In my dream scenario Mizzou would be in the west though.

Arkansas would welcome back Tennessee with open arms every year.

+1
Also, if Mizz goes to the east, East & West makes zero sense. Does the the conference rename the divisions? NOT Lesions and Lepers like the Big10, but Bryant & Neyland?

Da frick? Why would Georgia play aTm every year? Ole Miss makes much more sense since we played every year from the 60s up until the new format in the 2000s.

I just want to go on record with the following points:
I don't want Auburn (or any other West team) moved to the East.
I want to play Florida every year.
That is all.
