Serious question. The guy is a great regular season coach but may be the single worst tournament coach I've ever seen. At what point does Tennessee get sick of his shite and send him packing?

Not really. It's a serious question. The dude is a terrible post season coach.

They will not fire him. At some point you have to learn from your mistakes and that’s not firing a coach before you have a suitable replacement. Yes Vols fans want more but we also don’t want another repeat of if what the football program has gone through by furring Fulmer. Fulmer was fired only to hire a guy that was worse along with the next 3 hires. Making the tournament every year and giving yourself a chance to win is better than not making it. Only way you send Barnes out is that you have a better replacement.

Why would they fire him? The vols have never had post season success. At least rick is good in the regular season. Do they want to suck in the regular season and post season like before regular season rick?

No. As long as we’re good enough in the regular season to sell out TBA he will not get fired. He’s built up enough good will to weather a couple bad seasons too. He’ll probably retire a Vol.

I’m not sure he’s terrible. I think he just rarely gets teams to exceed expectations. He had a damn good run at Texas from ‘02-‘08. The spark seems to be relit at Tennessee. I do think they’re due for another Sweet 16 run.

I watched him lose to John pelphrey......he couldn't have been that good. How deep did he make it in the tourney at Texas?
