Corndog you just don't get it. LSU is getting millions or more dollars every year because Texas A&M brings the Texas TV market.

A&M was not the first school from Texas that the SEC wanted. Their footprint wasn't much different than the other minor schools in the state. If A&M wasn't willing, the SEC was willing to look at Houston (largest city), Texas Tech or TCU. The SEC believed whichever school they picked would be elevated due to the Conferences reputation. The preferred a school that had the State name in it. The letters A&M in it was an afterthought.

Just because you are F'ing idiot who failed out of the academic powerhouse East Carolina doesn't mean we need to Google shite for you because you are too GD lazy or stupid.

Texas only does what is good for Texas. It has always been that way and there is no reason to think it will change.

You might want to check with the networks that actually write the checks as to how much value the Longhorns would bring to the SEC. You would be surprised how little. The Longhorn Network has been a disaster that ESPN is losing money on.

You just made that shite up on the spot.

There is no way in hell that TCU or Texas Tech or Baylor or Houston were ever going to get an invite to the SEC. Especially, since the largest student body in Texas (or the SEC), a member of the AAU with much better academics, with much better athletic facilities and tradition wanted to join. There is no comparison between Texas A&M and TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor or Houston as far as attractiveness or fit. Good think Slive was there and not a hater like you!

You can print it out and frame it. Who cares?

It is called a rant. You can post. I can post. That is the way it is designed.

It's not designed for you to have 70% of the replies on one page of a thread on your own.

The Name power is what the SEC was looking for. They would have cause quit a scene if they were able to get them. Instead we settled for a whimper with A&M and Mizzu.

After UT turned the SEC down, they were just looking for a way to get their foot into the door. Call it arrogance, but the SEC thought the could elevate any program if the associated their name to it. A&M and Mizzu proved that theory wrong.

When do you think Texas was invited to join the SEC? Not in 2010 or 2011.

Tessus was interested in Big 10 or Pac12. They were trying to destroy the Big 12 in 2010 by going to the Pac12 with A&M. They negotiated some sort of deal behind A&M's back. A&M had no interest in the Pac12. Then Tessus started working on the Longhorn network behind everyone's back. Once exposed they offer A&M the opportunity to make it the Longhorn / A&M network with Tessus getting the most revenue of course. A&M said no and call Mike Slive and this is how A&M ended up in the SEC.

By the way, Texas never had an official offer to join the SEC to turn down....EVER!

It would mean the majority of the TV market in TX. It would add about $5M to each teams payout.

That's not how it works. Sec network is already getting the in state rate for all markets in Texas.

Good thing Mike Slive is a billionity times smarter than you. No way would he ever invite the cancerous University of Texas into the SEC and I doubt the 12 members would have give them a unanimous approval.

You can make up whatever you want but the facts don't correspond to your comments based on your Aggie jealousy or hatred or both!

Google is your friend!

I think you should just adopt UT Austin as your alma mater since you are in love with the Longhorns!

The SEC wanted UT in 92 so bad that they were willing to take A&M as a compromise. Again, if Slive could have gotten UT instead, A&M would be in the Big12 today trailing OU by three games every year.

Just a reminder that the SEC would kick the barn out if it had to choose between us and them

Don't even bother. He is either mad and wants to troll or he is too stupid to understand TV markets.

Don’t feel too bad, second wife’s usually works out better. Unless the first wife changes her mind.

I can't wait, and will welcome our burnt orange brothers to the SEC. I feel like we got the discounted TX team. Adding OU will be icing on the cake.
