He's actually pretty fast, just wasn't very decisive. Plenty fast enough to scramble effectively, like Burrow was able to. He's a better athlete than Burrow IMO.
Clearly…
Nussmeier rushing statistics:
Attempts: 34
Yards: -38
Yards per attempt: -1.1
Yep, a true dual threat. He may get sacked. Or he may throw up a duck that is intercepted.

I think that would be Finley, and why are you starting football threads during baseball season?
Oh, nevermind. 8T4 is one of the 3 SEC teams that has only football to look forward to.
Have fun talking football with SC and Mizzou, I think they both did better than a&m last season. I don't remember.

It gets predictable unless they get 100 yards a game or explosive runs with Caden to compliment Nuss.

Why talk football most of us still playing baseball. Sorry we ended your season. Makes me SAD! NOT!

Yep, they both throw it up in the air about the same amount.
One of those guys was basically a game manager and the other was the entire offense, hence the reason Jefferson averaged 180 passing yards per game while Nuss was at 310+

Who is the OC? Didn’t you guys have 2 co OC’s now?

Yes, Joe Sloan and Cortez Hankton
Sloan was Daniels' quarterback coach

That explains why Nuss tossed two interceptions to Alabama last season while Jefferson only tossed one in his first season as starter. But the rates were the same.
If two guys have a .300 batting average, the guy with more at bats isn’t automatically better.
Why do you think Kelly put the entire offense on Nussmeier? That doesn’t seem very wise.

I mean I realize I'm conversing with a simpleton but it isn't THAT hard to understand why you're more likely to throw an interception when you're the entire offense, vs just a game manager.

But why did Kelly make Nuss the entire offense? Was it because he is a shitty coach? Or was it because he is a shitty recruiter who couldn’t get him any help?

Probably the same reason your coach made Milroe his entire offense.
They both thought it was their best chance of success.

LSU’s left tackle was drafted with the #4 pick. LSU’s tight end was drafted with the #42 pick. LSU’s right tackle was drafted with the #91 pick. Half of LSU’s offensive line was drafted in the first 3 rounds of the NFL draft.
Despite this, Brian Kelly was either unable to develop a running game or made the strategic decision to put the entire offense on a first year starting QB and give him no help.
Either option is scary for LSU.

LSU gives up on the running game fast. Nuss should be throwing 25 times, handing it off 25 times. Caden needs 20 carries a game, other backs 5-10 snaps.
But Kelly wants Nuss to sling it and play hero ball out there, slinging it 30-40 times a game to get 300 yards.
I wonder what Shedeur Sanders stats are compared to Nuss. Sanders put up yards in the air, but finished with negative rushing yards every year. True pass pro QBs.

That's probably why there was so much focus on developing a well rounded running game this offseason.
We will see how it works out.

It wasn’t very close. I was surprised that Nuss had more passing attempts than Sanders. That is all coaching and play calling..

Honestly, not too bad considering Sanders was a 4 year starter and Nuss was starting for the first time, in the SEC.

Nuss needs to be asked to do less to help him have a stellar season. With a new OL, the coaches asking him to do more might happen. It’s all counter productive football that puts up pretty numbers, so it’s hard to criticize it until shite hits the fan like it did when he would fall in a hole in his rough games, and is asked by BK to throw his way out of it.

For sure, they have to be able to run the ball at least decently for Nuss to have any shot at success.
They also need to be able to at least slow down a running quarterback.
