Not if he lights up Clemson in the first game. That will give him great confidence.
And if he shits the bed against Clemson then LSU will be looking at 8-4/9-3 at the very best.

Yes, LSU has to win that first game with Clempson.

Every year I bet for LSU to roll their first opponent, and every year Brian Kelly has fricked me.
I’m starting to feel betting on LSU game one of the college football season is a suckers bet.

SidewalkTiger has outdone himself the last few days saying stupid shite. Just a world class level of dumbass has poured out of him. As bad as he makes LSU look he has to be a Tulane fan.

I swear when you put LSU koolaid goggles on, Nuss does remind me of a young Dan Marino.

Nuss is okay, he needs to get way better though for LSU to have a playoff shot.

Attempts to troll LSU fans by pointing out that winning the Heisman is now the standard for LSU QBs.

He may be another Burrow. Or he may be another Jordan Jefferson.
Nuss sure seems to panic and just throw the ball up in the air when he gets rattled, just like Jefferson. It will be interesting to see if coach Kelly has coached that out of him.

Before JD started his first year, I was very bullish on him on here. Said he would be great before he started bc you could see the “it” factor. When his arm talent matched his legs, he took off. Not of LSU fans were high on him bc he was a dual threat, and less of a Burrow. Yet, the OC tailored a great offense for him.
Reason I’m not bullish on Nuss is due to LSU lack of running game. Daniels rushed for or close to 1k? Well, Nuss ain’t doing that. When Nuss tried to run, he was slow. If he doesn’t have a running game (at least one 1k rushing RB), and it turns into drop back passes or force Nuss to run….blah blah…just not very confident. And it’s not like LSU doesn’t have a back capable of averaging 100yards/game with Caden.

I would tend to agree with you, and replacing 4 of 5 OL starters doesn't make me very confident there.
Alex Atkins was brought in to add new elements to the run game so hopefully that helps.

He's actually pretty fast, just wasn't very decisive. Plenty fast enough to scramble effectively, like Burrow was able to. He's a better athlete than Burrow IMO.
They've installed a package with a backup quarterback who's more of a runner this offseason so I'm interested to see how that looks.

Depends how your OL is designed with the new starters.
We are a running team, and even our OL that get drafted, like Dan Moore Jr. graded out as excellent run blockers, average pass protection. LSU has built their OL’s to be elite pass protection, average run blockers.
I think there is a difference between OL taught to get into their pass protection stance, maneuver leverage vs one taught to pan cake, pull, attack. We really need our OL to be better pass pro guys too tho.
