What exactly is a rivalry if these descriptions don't qualify:
What people call it doesn't really matter, but the high degree of emotional investment people seem to have in not calling this game a rivalry - when these descriptions certainly suggest it is one - is bizarre to me.

It’s a great game, and has basically been the toughest game in each other’s schedule for damn near a decade.

This century the LSU/Bama game has often been the deciding factor for the west.

LSU is hard game for Alabama good many times it has National Championship implications

One out of ten isn't much of a chance of losing.

Call it a rivalry if you wish but why would you want to have your main rivalry with a team that will never consider you in their Top 2? Auburn will always be their main rival. Tennessee simply has too much history for you to ever surpass them as a rival and if Tennessee can actually stop being complete crap it will heat up in a hurry. You've also lost 9 of 10 to them and Bama dominates the overall series.
LSU calling it a rivalry isn't as good of a look for you as you think.
Your original rivalries were Ole Miss and Tulane but Ole Miss is "meh" and cares about the Egg Bowl more and Tulane stopped caring about football decades ago and left the SEC before pretty much everyone on this board was born.
The Arky rivalry never seemed to take. A&M has some potential as we fight over the East Texas/West LA area for recruiting so heavily, the schools are both Land grant, and there is some history. With Texas coming in the Conference though that will go back to being the big rival for us.
LSU is a great program but you just never developed a true rivalry that stuck. Sorry.

I could care less about a rival. I just want to know why if Bama is so quick to dismiss LSU as being a rival then why are they so obsessed with the game. When your start quarterback is sobbing after a regular season game then I think it’s more than just a regular matchup.

Really? For all he knew, that one drive might have meant the difference between a repeat national title shot and a season like LSU ended up having. Keep trying to make it about your team like a weirdo, I guess.

No one said Bama/LSU isn't a rivalry.

Since Saban arrived in gumpland only LSU and Auburn have beaten him more than once in the regular season I believe. (except for Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss)

Does this mean Ole Miss is your biggest rival since y'all stormed the field after beating them in 2014?

Claiming titles doesn't count

Yeah that's why Saban jumped into McCarron's arms like a half a fig after one game vs LSU

I’d say auburn has been tougher though LSU has been more talented than auburn. Auburn has gotten it done more than 1 for 10.

then why put the streak against LSU in the name when referencing LSU on this site when Bama has a streak against almost everyone in the west.
Why not A8M? or 15nnessee? Is it because LSU is your rival? I think so

How about the next year when Saban jumped into McCarons arms after the win.

The LSU game is personal to Saban, for obvious reasons. That doesn't mean him having a more personal connection to the game is the same thing as a rivalry

Two answers:
1. “No you don’t…”
2. “I live at the Sonic” … and if you come there to meet me, you won’t have a freaking 50 yard line to try to drag your sorry azz across to claim a moral victory.
Re: rivalry. I’ll ask this question of the LUSer fans. You have six opponents in the SEC west.
A&M, Ark, Ole Miss, Miss State, Aub, and Ala.
This year, in the course of a mediocre season, you lose a game to a one of them. The loss to which team will make you feel like throwing up, sick, want to fire the coach, go on Tr and rave till you choke, foam at the mouth as the winner’s fans make fun of you?
If you say “none of them,” you truly don’t know what a rivalry is. If you pick one, and truly feel that way, that is your personal “rival.”

Alabama has dominated the playoff era, the only "true" champions, since football wasnt invented in he year 2000. In 1925 Alabama was the only undefeated team. Not only that, but we could claim 1966, 1975, 1977, and 1945 as the NCAA lists us as the champions for that year. No matter how many you take away Alabama still has the most historically.

The Iron bowl is our greatest chance of losing, and that is only at Jordan-Hare with Gus.

so your personal rival is LSU. I don't even consider LSU/Alabama to be a rivlary in the true sense of the word, but you hate LSU as much as anyone on here hates another team. That much is clear.
