No..I personally have no issue with either...like LSU a little more because my favorite sports personality is from there(Shaq) plus the LSU/Gator game is fun. Bama is rivals with Tenn and Auburn.....so we have rivals in common.

No, lsu is a rival of ole miss so I think a lot of people understand that's not a move you make.

Y'all had no option on Charlie Weiss. He was going to coach us or he was not going to sign the contract with lsu. The only reason the others are back is lane knew it would look bad if Weiss went and the others weren't allowed to.

Oh, that's the story y'all are telling now.

Anybody else remember when it was "nobody got on the plane with lane".

I remember.

I remember fans on message boards saying that. I remember the AD and coach both saying Charlie said the whole time he was coaching. Believe he said that in an interview as well.

I guess the randoms on the message board is who we go with tho. I'm fine with Lane being gone now. Pete is 9 years younger and has 2 more college football playoff wins than lane does already. Not to mention, don't think we have to worry about the midlife crisis thing with Pete. Think kiffin is still struggling with being a 50 year old.

Alabama wouldn't hire Kiffin to begin with. Nor do we hire/fire coaches the way LSU did.

You fired Mike Shula one year removed from a 10 win season and a Cotton Bowl win. You finished the 2005 season ranked in the Top 10 despite losing your star receiver to injury. You saw an opportunity to hire Saban the following year and took it. Sound somewhat familiar?

I can tell you why Alabama fans hate LSU so much if you want to hear it.

Probably

The DeBoer situation was essentially the same, but with better timing and I don't remember much backlash.

DeBoer left Washington (equivalent program to Ole Miss) after 2 seasons that he just had in the title game, thus showing he could compete for championships at Washington.

DeBoer was even jumping around more often than Kiffin with 1 year as OC at Indiana, 2 years at Fresno State, and 2 years at Washington.

No, doesn't sound familiar at all.

Shula was given 4 years and he lost to Auburn all 4 of them and he had a losing record his last year. It looked like he had things going in the right direction, it regressed in his 4th year. The 10 win season you mention was his only winning season.

He was mostly hired to get the Alabama program back on track and out of sanctions, and he did that.

Saban wouldn't even talk to Alabama until after the NFL season was over. We almost hired Rich Rod, but he turned us down. Spurrier turned us down as well.

Shula being fired had nothing to do with Saban.

Ah, so this is the new talking point from the Oxford Pravda?

If Lane had simply been forthcoming and not trolled the fanbase on the way out, it would have been less. There would always be some level of animus since LSU is a rival but it would have been mitigated to some degree.

The alleged trolling claimed by OM fans is a complete fabrication that exists in your minds only.

The NCAA darlings would never get this much hate! They always get the love, calls and decisions because they are the cash cow for NCAA! So, know he wouldn't get this much backlash. Let's see what happens when they stop making as much money for the NCAA.

You might want to get checked out for short term memory loss.
