Both LSU and Auburn will win the West next before Ole Miss, A&M, State, etc.

Just basing this on history.

A&M has beaten LSU 2 of the 3 games since Fisher has been there.

They haven’t beat Alabama and LSU in the same year though…and realistically if they’re going to safely win the division they have to win head to head against both to have the tiebreakers

The way they're recruiting right now, I couldn't agree more.

Hard to argue with that.

I like your enthusiasm. I am 100% on the Lane Train, but it is hard for me to see him staying here for a long time. If he does though, I can see us building something cool here.

Will we win a natty under Kiffin? Probably not. Will we win the SEC under Kiffin? Maybe. Really just depends on how long he chooses to stay.

Lane will be the first Saban assistant to beat him.

LSU won the West (2011, 2019) less times than Auburn (2010, 2013, 2017) in the prior decade. It is a testament to the competitiveness of the division though. I don’t think many would have guessed Alabama only won the West half of the seasons in the 2010s.

At any rate, hasty to think Alabama is dropping to 3rd position in the West on a consistent basis any time soon. My reckon Saban may retire in 4-5 years and I don’t think it is an accident that the @WVU game is in 2026. That may be a send-off season for Saban. We also can pretty much assume that Saban is going to recruit top 5 classes until the day he hangs em up. So the next guy will probably do exceptionally well for the first couple of years just due to the roster being stacked.

I think it may be the 2030s before Alabama is safely removed from their perch of being the perennial favorite in the division. I’d almost bet on Alabama’s 2020s in the West being similar to the 2010s…winning around half the division titles.

As noted, till the Black Bears start playing defense they'll never contend for the division championship, let alone the SEC. The aggies have always been full of promise, yet have won nothing since joining the league. Color me skeptical, based on history, till they do win something.

He beat UK, Vandy, SC, and MSU last year.

Let’s pump the brakes.

And Indiana. We got jobbed vs. Auburn and should have beat LSU if Corral doesn't melt down. We aren't winning the west with him though. Would take a lot better recruiting, especially on D, and then Lane staying for 3 years. If he does better each year, he will have a lot of opportunity at the end if '21, '22 at the latest.

Nah ... they're still a QB and about 5 years of putting an elite product on the field before being an elite program.
