My sources are reporting that it will be Wayne Fontes.

Lane Kiffin would be an epic train wreck. This would make the O hire look brilliant. I know the offenses and trolling saban and all that shite but the fringe stuff he does destroys programs from the inside.

I think it would just be Aranda

We need to fire Alleva

No reason to hire a coach no one else would hire as HC over some petty emotional feelings

This has been proven to be an absolute in this case.

Because Alleva got emotional and made a ridiculous hire?

Again, Alleva needs to go. I can’t stand that guy since his Duke days. He forced the Lacross coach to either resign or be fired. Over false accusations. Joe is awful.

There aren’t very many legit answers in this thread. It’s hard to gage considering so many schools just filled vacancies.

Whose the next flavor-of-the-month, flameout to be? Think Hallman, Dinardo, the attempt at Herman, and even Saban - even though they hit the jackpot on that one.

So whose next up? Norton? Brohm? Lane's a possibility. I'd argue that Fritz is actually going to get Tulane turned around ala Mack and Terry Bowden so that would be a possibility. But after going with a retread they will almost certainly go with a 'fresh' face.

Joe won't fire O. If O fails, Joe will already be fired by the time O gets fired.

There are a half dozen absolutely bankable winners in CFB at most . We could get none of these . We’d be rolling the dice just like everybody else. Most LSU fans hope Aranda is up for the challenge as he is the most respected System/philosophy/ process guy on our radar.

1. Jeff Bower- NOT
2. Joey Jones- LOL
3. Gene Chizik- Great Call actually might work
4. Mack Brown- WTF, not Texas based coaches in the SEC

5. Houston Nutt- Not no but hell no, would have us in an NCAA investigation by first year

Art Briles- Never
Hugh Freeze- Not in a million years

Bobby Petrino - ABSOLUTELY

Mark Richt- Absolutely cause he ain't staying in Miami long. Mark would be a great fit at LSU with the Talent

Promoting Aranda is more appealing than Joe Alleva conducting another search.

Exactly. Which is why the question was asked.

There was a lot of movement of coaches this past season. Few (if any) would consider making another move so quickly if 0 is gone after 2018.

I don’t think LSU fans would be content with hiring an assistant, their patience is minimal.
