I'm slapping myself for not taking advantage of Fields.

In the second half, I put in Justin Fields and run zone-read with Holyfield 2/3 out of the time. The other 1/3 I'm stealing one from Florida and running the shotgun-option with Swift/Holyfield.

Holyfield is built like a tank. He's powerful, but shifty. LSU's defense, especially Battle, didn't want anything from him. Fields is quick enough to keep it and get considerable yardage once the defense keyed in on Holyfield.

Putting a true freshman in that environment would be stupid.

That's why Kirby is a coach and you aren't.

Georgia was doomed the minute they took the field.

They had a great gameplan to start. Aranda made a few adjustments and UGA didnt

The botched fake FG did them in 5 minutes into the game.

As an LSU Alum, I was perplexed and thankful that GA did not RPO us with Holyfield full throttle behind Fields. Hlolyfield was beast mode with those genes from his Dad. Dude is special talent.

I'm slapping myself for not running the ball a lot more when it was working. Holyfield and swift were taking us down the field with ease, but chaney wants to send fromm out to throw three straight incompletions.

no

it could have gone different, the decision to run the fake field gial invigorated LSU and the crowd and deflated UGA, we looked kike a team that could move the ball, but just fell apart after that

totally on Kirby, seems he did not have our guys ready to feal with adversity

You say this like Fromm played with any composure at all

The only logical explanation is that the coaches let Fromm tie his own noose so there will be no controversy when Fields takes over from here on out.

Either Fromm puts the team on his shoulders and comes back to win, cementing his starting spot, or he falls apart and takes a back seat the rest of eternity.

So your coach tanked the game, so the fans wouldn't be upset when he names Fields the starter? Brilliant logic!

No, Smart didnt know Fromm was going to tank. In fact, fromm has a record of actually coming back in those situations. See rose bowl, notre dame, and some others.

And the contoversy i was referencing is that within lockerroom, not websites and radio callers.

Fromm has not looked himself this year, not like he did Last year at least.

Fromm was 16/34 yet they kept letting him throw the ball.

Holyfield only had 7 carries, but he averaged 8.0 yards per carry.

Swift had 12 carries and averaged 6.0 yards per carry.

Sorry, but if I'm OC, I'm going with what's working. then if it stops working, I would try to sling the ball around. Fromm had no business throwing 34 times that game.

More logical than thinking UGA had any chance of winning that game with Fromm playing like that.

Which is why I like our chances. Mullen has adapted every game since UK

Tenn we threw a lot of deep balls to exploit their secondary.

Miss State was all screen and short throws and about long possessions to keep clock moving.

LSU we went to the air in the middle of the field, and tossed in that special option when needed a spark. Didn't throw short much at all.

Vandy we just went heavy run knowing their depth would break and we would control the game at the end.

No clue what we do for Georgia. But I bet Mullen will have a way to exploit the match up to create the best chance to win. Been so fun to watch a coach who adjust based on opponent instead of forcing a game plan every week that doesn't differ.

I thought of another logical reason.

Only 2 qb's on roster since bennett transferred.

1 commit for 2019.

If you lose either fields or fromm then you are right back in this situation next year.

So if he pisses of Fromm, he gone. If he pisses off Justin, he gone.

Maybe the big picture seems more important than simply one loss.

Remember when bama was losing to auburn last year, and they still didnt put tua in?

They waited until absolutely everything was on the line before switching.

Maybe that is kirby's mindset. Just a theory.

Has substantially more talent, and your team is not the same. You lost Richts defense. Now you have a rather average defense that LSU just mowed through.

He's exactly right about the Red Zone offense...Fromm was horrible and LSU couldn't stop our running game with Fields running the offense down there. They had 2 guys spying on em when every time he handed off.

I wouldnt have put em out there between the 20's vs the
LSU secondary.
