If Georgia loses, they're done. Their season is over ... but not so fast.
Is it really a foregone conclusion that if Georgia loses to LSU (which they will) and Utah wins, that Utah gets in?
Utah will be 12-1 with one loss to 8-4 USC while Georgia will have two losses ... one to LSU which is a good loss, I suppose. But one to a 4-8 South Carolina team.
Georgia will have a couple of good wins though:
Auburn 9-3
Florida 10-2
While Utah will have their best win over a 7-5 Arizona St team and against Oregon who would finish 10-3
If Utah loses and Oklahoma wins, I'm thinking Georgia still looks good. It's really a toss up but only between Utah and Georgia. If Utah goes down, I don't think Oklahoma will jump Georgia.

If Georgia keeps it close and Utah and Oklahoma lose it will be between Baylor and Georgia.

Utah lost a close game to USC despite their RB and QB getting hurt in the game.
UGA shouldn't get a second chance b/c they had the opportunity to play a higher ranked team than Utah does.

Green Bay will lose. The fourth spot will be Utah or OU.

losing at USC with hurt star players is better than losing at home to 4-8 SC. SC's starting QB was knocked out in that game too.
you wouldn't make this argument if UGA was in a diff conference

I hate agreeing with you because you’re a complete asswipe, but I do agree with you on this point.

Pfft... Georgia has been done since somehow losing at home to the worst UofSC team in 20 years.

that's not the topic and it has been discussed millions of times on here
the committee thinks Clemson's schedule is good enough if they ranked Clemson no. 3

If we lose we don’t deserve to be in.
I also think the SEC Championship punishes the conference rather than helps it but that’s the way it is. If we hadn’t lost to South Carolina we’d just be playing to shuffle the order of the top 4

Georgia shouldn't have lost to South Carolina at home, but Clemson shouldn't have lost to Pitt or Syracuse over past couple of years, but you know very well bad losses can and will happen. The difference here is that Georgia has wins over multiple top ten teams that teams like Utah don't have, and couldn't have with the 47th talented roster in the country.
Its not about the four best teams, its about the four teams that are either undefeated or have one loss because the committee is to chicken shite to actually put the four best teams in rather than just look at reality. If Utah played Georgia's schedule they would be 8-4 or 7-5 at best.
Simple logic tells you that if the committee thinks Georgia is the 4th best team right now, and the lose to LSU by what Vegas opened the line at, 4, what data derived from that says that Georgia isn't the still the 4th best team. By their logic, Georgia should lose to a higher ranked team, should they not? Why don't we just call the rankings what they are then, fricking standings, not rankings.

that's all speculation and my speculation is Auburn, Florida and ND are overrated.
ND got destroyed by a pretty bad Michigan team.

No, it’s not that. Aren’t you the guy who keeps telling us that the ACC is a great conference?
