He was indeed the best player in the country. Mario was a system QB, who played bad defenses

Henry compared to LF7
Henry has around 65 some odd more carries than LF7 but yet only out rushes him in total yards by 245yrds
Does a heisman winner rush for 31 yards when it counts?

Henry got his yards against tougher competition.

Quick question : Didnt Derrick Henry just break Herschel Walker's all time single season SEC rushing record ?
SEC rushing record.. wow gotta respect that right ?
two players in the SEC alone might do that this season, and McCaffery is about 50 yards shy of HW's record rushing total as well

someone from Mississippi calling someone from Alabama a redneck. Interesting

I was never really impressed by Mariota.

This is the one that really matters. Not sure how you could not give out the Heisman to someone with this gaudy stat.

If it actually went to the best player then Tobe Gerhart would have won it.

Unfortunately for him, he plays for a West Coast school that requires their athletes actually know how to read, and because of that they lost a few games.
Fortunately for him, he was playing against teams that also have reading requirements for their players and because of that, he was able to put up gaudy numbers.

It doesn't really matter what criteria you evaluate these two by
Yeah it kind of does. McCaffrey is a damn good football player but if he had been facing SEC defenses regularly, his numbers would be a whole lot different.

So, on average, Henry played against the 46th ranked defense in the country whereas McCaffrey played against the 80th ranked defense.
LOL came to post the same thing. Thank you guys for pointing out the truth about these stats. Henry could run up 4k yards rushing (without lame kick returns that are gimmee 20 yards every time if you even try) and score 35 TD's if he was running against the same defenses McCaffrey did.

What do you gotta have to get into ole miss? Like a 16 on the ACT?

Derek Henry is the 3rd best running back in the SEC. Christian McCaffrey is far and away the best Football player in the country.
Look. You are clearly still upset about 4th and 25 and no one is going to take you seriously. You maybe need to take a few more days off and enjoy the Sugar Bowl. You haven't been there since Nixon was President. This is the heights of Ole Miss football

Since we are repeating stereotypes, where do you keep your klan robe? How do you wash it since Mississippi doesn't have running water?

Exactly. B.J. Symons owns the record for most passing yards in a season and not only was he not invited to NYC most of you have never even heard of him
