They had to play Moo State, Georgia Southern, and Auburn to get a rematch...that is in NO way like any kind of playoff in anything...why can't the Gumps understand this?

I imagine most of them in their heart of hearts do, hence the incessant caterwauling for the last two or three weeks.

If LSU wins will you admit they are better?

Right now, just like before we played in November, I'd say these teams are as close to even as any two teams I've ever seen, with a slight edge to LSU because of their outstanding special teams...and the obvious fact that they already won a game against us (that game really just reinforced my opinion though).

If LSU wins again, I will say that they were obviously the better team, and the degree of separation will depend on the point difference.

If Alabama wins, then I'll say that there is no doubt that the two teams were 1A and 1B...

I mean, i'd take it, but in my mind, y'all we be the national chmamptions.

Granted, youd have gotten the championship w/ a situation as fortunate as we had in 07, but as much I still think that one of ours in 2007 is fine and untainted, I'd look at y'all, as winners of the game as champions. A "split" championship would be pretty awesome, but only a moral victory - you know what i mean, like y'alls loss to us at home this year....moral vicotry?

wink.

PS - good luck in the game.

ps again - i love using the word taint.

No, it's BCS or bust. The schools agreed to this system and it's what we've had since 1998. Period.

You are once again comparing this situation to the playoff system in the NFL. It's different but I wouldn't expect critical thinking from a Gump.

Meh, I think the AP title is completely valid. Its slightly below the BCS crown, but a legit title all the same. There is just something about the Coaches poll being contractually bound to name the winner of the BCS game as NC that makes the independent votes of of the AP valid.

Not only will I not handle it, I will not consider it. Seriously though, if Bama wins they're the champs. That's it. No split, no nothing. Winner take all.

Absolutely. They are already SEC champs so way to go! Unfortunatly that does little good now that we are playing for the National Championship. There will be no split title in the BCS winner takes all. Deal with it.

the national champion is the team holding the crystal ball on jan 9th. plain and simple.

if you want to keep all the co-champ arguments out... create a playoff. plain and simple

The AP is a legitimate national title, whether the BCS is in place or not.

U clowns can dream all you want, LSU has faced every challenge thrown at them this year. Adversity off the field and on, this team has seized it's destiny by the throat! It's just another game to them, they should be playin OSU.

I can handle it, if it is a very close game.

The reality is that it will not be a split title. The AP will vote Bama if they win.

Yea, we know. They'll probably get a few votes if they lose.

sure.
but what's the point. the reason for the BCS is to find the national champion. whether you think it's a good system or not (i do not) you have to consider that BCS champ as the sole national champion. otherwise, there is no reason for the BCS.
