I am not an admin. I just put that on my profile to mess with people. Hell, I got suspended a couple of weeks ago and had to beg for forgiveness to get back on.

True that. If we traded Tuberville for Chizik we might have made one of the worst moves I can recall, and we are going to be chilling in the basement of the SEC for a while.

Spurrier came into town for a round of golf, folks were excited about that but very few were sure they wanted it to happen. Rodriguez or however you spell his last name got interviewed. John Gruden was a name I remember. Mike Leach was also a name ... until the big enchilada. ;)

Yeah, Gene Chizik is a serious upgrade from Tuberville..

How the frick is his name in the running for college jobs all the time?
JDR is the only NFL HC I could see willingly leaving his job for college HC position.

It's always Gruden, Cowher, and Del Rio. My money's on none of these guys coaching CFB.

Rich Rod was pretty much going to be here. Similar to Miles and Michigan last year. Luckily on both counts the media jumped the gun announcing and both WV and Lsu took care of their coaches before they left and neither came to fruition.

that's a good question. i think it's just kind of a thing that, once it gets started, it just doesn't stop. so it catches fire anywhere there is a decent or a good college looking for a new hC.

JDR actually came to interview at LSU but his agent screwed the deal up and Bertman freaked out. His team was in the playoffs at the time.

I will keep my judgement of Jay Jacobs open until he hires someone officially. Then I will throw a rock thru his window, ala Bill Curry.

I'm personally starting to think Paul Bryant Jr. owns Bobby Lowder.

Jacobs is an Athletic Director. As an Athletic Director, his job is to make sure that Auburn athletics succeed. He was hired in 2004. Ever since 2004, we have gotten worse and worse in every single sport. Every single one. He is a failure at athletic director and this latest firing, even though you wanted it, was a complete disaster.

+1
The thing I don't understand CPA, is that you wanted Tuberville fired because the program was steadily declining. Why don't you hold the same standard for Jacobs? Our major sports have done nothing but go in the toilet since his hire, why not hold him accountable? Also, one of the major reasons your boy Muschamp left was because of Jacobs, why not hold him accountable?

Chizik had some pretty stout defenses in 2003 and 2004.
I think AU will be OK.

chizik is a great coordinator, but my god the man is 5-19 as an hc. if this is the best auburn can do then that program is in worse shape than i thought.

i don't think the lack of HC's out there that are BIG names and available has much to do with Auburn's program being in bad shape. but, the whole auburn admin needs to get their butts kicked into shape. stop fighting like little girls and work as a team.
seriously though... what big names are out there that aren't happy as they can be where they are? aka, what incentive do they have to move to Auburn to coach?
