"People take this way too seriously. Who cares if Bama fans chant SEC(assuming they win)? Why do fans of other conferences ridicule it...because they hate it. I agree that it supports the South which is constantly dumped on by pop culture. Its a nice way to get under some elitist Big 10 skin."

SEC fans who would wish for the SEC representative in the MNCG to lose, especially against ND are:
1 - Really dedicated to their hatred of THAT SEC team
2 - Upset about losing to said SEC team
3 - A transplanted SEC fan who does not have the South in their blood and bones.
Conference loyalty for me is all about just that. No "butthurt" or "dickriding". I support the SEC representative no matter who it is. In the BCS era I have supported UT, LSU x 2, UF x 2, AU and Bama x 3 and should UGA ever be in the same position, I would like to think the majority of SEC fans would do the same.

I must fall under #3. Born and raised central Alabama, but I don't care about the South. If it wasn't for the cold weather, I'd probably live elsewhere. I'd probably fit in better.

I was thinking about pulling for Notre Dame, then I saw the media fawning over a Notre dame linebacker , whom isn't even the best player on his side of the ball,and remembered that the Notre Dame bias is far worse than any Bama bias. At least Bama has a great team. So I'm all Roll tide ( shite I just threw up in my mouth a little)
