re: If A&M can't beat us in Kyle what makes them think they can beat us in BR?

Good bet that he doesnt considering he had arguably the greatest season in SEC history. But he will improve as a decision maker and a passer.

Texas A&M will win in BR this year because they will play the worst LSU team since 2008.

I think a better question is; if A&M does beat LSU at home, what lame excuses are they going to come up with? "They played us the week after we played ______". "We were looking ahead to ________".
The Ags' WILL win in Baton Rouge next November - bookmark it.

Making a wager on a game seven months out is ridiculous. LSU could have anywhere from zero to four losses when we play them.

What kind of odds you give me if I say the Ags' beat 'em straight up?

LSU did lose seven starters on defense.
Whole starting D-line. M&M, Logan and Downs. Projected starters in '13 Freak, Ego, Rasco and Hunter will be solid SEC quality talent. Brick needs to develop backups NOW. LSU just signed possibly their best ever D-line class last month. A few of those guys will see the field this season.
Minter at LB. As good as he was the '13 LB corps as a group will be better. Barrow had 100+ tackles. LB class of '12 was their best LB signing class ever.
Simon at CB. Will miss his experience not his cover skills. Return Freshman all american and Freshman all SEC CBs.
Reid at safety. His knowledge and experience will be missed. Most LSU fans felt his '11 season was much better than '12.
Three of LSU's DBs in dime package were freshmen. Third safety was a true soph and fourth safety was a freshman. Expect all those young guns to improve between now and labor day. LSU's DB signing classes of '12 and '13 were top of the line.

Nobody is saying that LSU's defense will be bad. That isnt even remotely the point.
The point, and this is crucial to understand, is that the defense won't be AS GOOD as the consistently elite, national top-10 type defense of the past four seasons or so. For a program that relies so heavily on their defense, this could potentially be a problem. LSU plays SO MANY close games and requires such a stout effort from their defense due to their often poor offensive showings that any dropoff could be significant. How many games would LSU have lost last season if their defensive ranking was just ten spots lower? Probably at least five and as many as seven. That is the fine line Les Miles' teams tow.

I seem to remember this exact thing being sad ad nauseum after the 2010 season when PP7, Kelvin Sheppard and Drake Nevis left. We all know how good Simon, Reid, Mathieu, Mingo, Montgomery, etc. were, as sophomores, in 2011 right?
Jalen Mills, Jalen Collins, Kwon Alexander, Micah Eugene, Danielle Hunter, and Deion Jones are all sophomores who got solid PT last year and will be looking to make names for themselves 2013, except Jalen Mills who was one of the best freshman DBs in the country last year. Not to mention Juniors Freak Johnson and Ego Ferguson stepping into the DT spots, along with Lamin Barrow, Ronald Martin, and Loston all returning.
LSU's D will be young again in 2013 but they will also be elite, book it.

I will make a bet with you right now. LSU doesn't lose 4 games in the regular season. If we do I will never post on the SECr again, if we go 10-2 or better(giving you room) you don't post on the SECr till the start of the 2014 football season.

They were literally so sick of starting out the season 0-1, they pussed out of a contract. Is there a more chicken shite program in the NCAA than LSU? I don't think so.
