Like I said...did you guys not even fricking read the whole story?

I don't think you are understanding. The crossover is to be played on conference championship week.

In other words, they play 8 regular season games then the conference championship game. The week their conference championship is played the other teams will be matched the way you described. Thus, they will play 8 games plus a conference championship game, while the other conferences will play 10 plus a conference championship game.

The Big Ten will follow what Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez called an "8+1" schedule, featuring eight regular-games followed by a ninth cross-divisional game for every team to be played the same weekend as the Big Ten Championship game.

Like I said...did you not understand what you were reading?

ETA
This isn't rocket science.

Yeah, you're right, it isn't rocket science, so why the frick aren't you getting it? No, it isn't 8 plus only a conference championship. You even quoted it yourself and you still don't get it.

EVERY B1G team will play 9 games.

ONLY TWO SEC teams will play 11 games

They aren't playing 8 games. Every team is playing 9 games...only 1 game less than 12 of the teams in the SEC.

Crap dude. I MIGHT be wrong, but here is the pertinaet quote. tehy play eight games then

for every team to be played the same weekend as the Big Ten Championship game.

Their champion will play 9 games total while everyone else plays 11. Explain it to me how this is wrong.

See, you said this:

quote:

They have 2 fewer games in which to suffer major injuries or be upset/beaten. 2 games is significant.

If Texas A&M loses to Alabama, who goes undefeated and wins the SEC, aTm will have only played one game fewer than every B1G team, including an undefeated Ohio State.

The point is that they will play 2 fewer games, so it gives them an advantage going into the playoffs. if you had read my posts before calling them out you would have realized that was my argument. They will have two fewer games in which to be upset, or experience injuries.

You are the one that remarked to my posts, and you still haven't shown how their champion in the playoff would not play 2 fewer games.

See my post right above.

What the hell is so hard to grasp about that? 11-10 is still 1, isn't it?

Slow down and read. Who cares about how many game teams that do not play in the playoffs play?

I am talking about how it will give them a big advantage in the playoffs. I don't care how many games Rutgers plays.

I was never talking about wthere or not a 9-0 OSU would get in over an undefeated Alabama or Clemson. I'm just saying that a 9-0 OSU gets in over a 9-1 Texas A&M.

How in the world are they playing 10 if they play 8 games and their champions play a conference championship game?

They aren't playing 8 games then 1 plays 1 and THEN a Conference Championship game. The +1 game IS the conference championship game.

And I have always been talking about how their champion would be playing 2 fewer games than our champion would be playing.

Look, you posted to my posts. if you are not sure about what I am talking about (Although it is crystal clear) then maybe you shouldn't charge in saying I don't know what I am talking about?

I'm a bit curious how you thought their champion would be playing 10 games.

I was thinking so, but I kept wondering if maybe I was misunderstanding somehow. Then I kept reading and felt sure I was right.

Osu won't get in all their games. With all their rules, they will have a game or 2 fall thru

The B10 has an 8 game schedule with no bye weeks. If 5% of the team has Covid, they don't play (neither does their opponent). I think the PO has an 8 game minimum requirement.

So, miss 1 game & tough!

Good. that should finish them, then. Nothing against them personally (except the arrogant and smug THE ohio State University) but I just hate the way the BIG 10 handled this.

SeC is about to go back to the drawing board and play Division only schedule.

Force the CFP committee to decide between 3-4 SEC teams between 0-1 losses.

If we are 5-0 in an ALL-SEC schedule you can frick right off with thinking Ohio State should be ranked over us with one win.

Whoever thought that idea up is a genius. Since they will be the only game in town on that weekend they'll get sole TV coverage.... 7 games which will make up a big chunk of the revenue that they will lose.
