List of Teams they will face who have as good a running back as Cook:
You do understand that the purpose of a rush defense is to defend all rushers, correct?
If a team holds Fournette to 50 yards, but still gives up 160+ on the ground, it still wasn't a success against the run.

Best defensive line? Are you smoking dickless crack cocaine?
Other than Bama, tell me who they will face that will come close to that DL? Plus Walker is much more multiple than anyone Bama can line up. If they take Williams and move him to DT he would get stoned!!!!

Bama and aTm DL are going to feast against thT OL

You're pretending that they faced an average team last night. I get it.

Their coaching, Kelly's play, and their receiver play makes them a team everyone has to respect. Anyone without a pass rush or decent secondary play will have a difficult time against Ole Miss, and if you've got neither, your defense is in for a long day. Better be able to score points too...
Kelly will most likely have a decent day against Bama, but most decent QB's do OK against Bama these days, while they have their best day dropping pinpoint passes. Many reasons for all that, but one of them is most decent QB's come into the Bama game very focus and prepared. Doing well against Bama these days will get HC's a contract extensions or a QB noticed come $$ draft day $$. Can you blame opposing coaches, and QB's preparing like no other game week, with so much to gain from that Bama game? QB's don't have to much to lose really because many sports-pundits think Bama's defense will rock them anyways, and that actually puts most of the pressure & expectations on Bama's defense then. If that QB ends up doing bad against Bama defense, that QB was expected to do so! Do good though, and that QB has done a supposedly impossible feat! Bama's defense shutting down QB's is sorta of a myth right now, because chances are more than not, a decent QB's will have a good day verses Bama.
If you're a halfway decent CFB QB, you'll most likely have one of your most accurate passing days when playing Bama. I just accept this now, and don't even shake my head anymore, I've witnessed to many of these unavailable & successful pass/catch plays by opposing QB's happening. Even crazy passing plays that break down, and have no business of success, seem to end up working verses Bama's defense too. You've gotta take the good with the bad, and it seems Bama is snake-bitten when it comes to playing decent QB's these days. Thank goodness Bama's offense has been capable of scoring points, when it really matters, too... lol

I saw some really good things too. Kelly can really fling it around. When the offense clicks it is hard to stop. The gameplan seemed sound and the players executed well for the most part. FSU is really talented.
I also noticed some deficiencies. The secondary is thin and inexperienced, the o line had some trouble with the quickness of the FSU d line and linebackers, not much of a running game, and the receivers had the opportunity to make a bunch of plays but dropped the ball instead.

Auburn and Texas A&M.

They gave up nearly 600 yards last night and only managed 67 rushing yards. In this league, that is not going to win very many games.
We had guys that weren't even named on the depth chart playing in the secondary last night. Webster going down hurt bad because he was our only true "on an island" CB. It is obvious Tony isn't back from his knee injury and Bridges is just not good. We have talented RS & freshman but they are green. They need to throw them out there and stop playing "3RD & WOMMACK" D (huge cushions).....also they need a way to ensure the entire secondary is playing the same coverage....to have a Sr playing zone when the rest are in man is inexcusable.

What are you talking about? They gave up 160 yards rushing. That isn't really "good" no matter who you are facing. They will face better rushing attacks in the SEC all season long.

That is a good idea. I sure would like to have this kid on the Hog team. He could be a good one.

Dude, their QB got +60 on 2 broken plays where he scrambled. The run D was not the issue....it was the 3RD & WOMMACK pass coverage that killed the D. Those 10 yard cushions in "off" allowed them to dink & dunk right down the field. It was 2015 Arkansas all over again. Oh yeah, also our damn LBs forgot they have to cover a slow white TE from time to time.

No. They will face two to three teams as good as FSU in rushing.

Are you serial?
In 2015 FSU average 168 yards per game on the ground. This ranked them 70th in the nation in rushing offense.
8 teams in the SEC averaged more yards rushing than Florida State a season ago. 6 of those teams are on Ole Miss' schedule this season.
Again...the idea of rushing defense is to stop all rushers, not just one running back.

Dude, I think we are making the tragic mistake of using logic with tRantards. Silly us
The one thing that concerned me is Kelly was off last night. Lots of under thrown balls and in the second half it looked like his ball lost some velocity.....like maybe his shoulder was ailing
Posted on 9/6/16 at 9:38 am to DeltaDoc
FSU has one of the 3 best rosters in college football. In the second half, it showed.

That number will be higher with Francois playing QB instead of Sean Maguire

Once again Francois got +60 yards on scrambles. They held the rushing attack in check to the detriment of the passing attack. The safeties & LBs were playing run first because Cook is that good. Against most teams without RBs like Chubb or LF7 they will be more than fine.....the issue has been and still is "3RD & WOMMACK"

Kelly was fine when he had time. FSU made adjustments that kept him on his arse in the 2nd half.
