Shut up little brother. Shouldn't you be planning another hayride?

Yeah, bama's title is the AP but it was bullshite that year and the AP was so embarrassed they changed the way they vote the next year.

Bama still claims it as a legit NC of course though.

At least describe the entire series of events to paint a better picture.

Arkansas and others cried about the voting process by the AP and Coaches' Poll in 1964, since it was before the bowls. The AP changed their process in 1965 to reflect the bowls as well. Ironically that cost Arkansas an out-right title, as Alabama won their bowl game and Arkansas' lost, giving Alabama the 1965 national title. The AP changed back in 1966, but Alabama was denied the '66 title in favor of Notre Dame (Michigan State took the other poll). The AP changed for good in 1967, with the Coaches'/UPI waiting until 1973 to change.

And Alabama started the season ranked #1, went undefeated, while ND and MSU played each other and tied. ND had the ball late in the game and had plenty of time to score, but sat on it instead.

TiM is probably an intelligent guy, but can't help but show his arse when it comes to Alabama.

Oh, I know he's being an arse. I don't think he believes a fraction of what he states on this board. However, I feel compelled to comment for those that don't understand the differences in the voting processes in the 1960s, and those that followed.

1941 -- The 1941 Alabama Crimson Tide, coached by Frank Thomas, completed the regular season 8-2-0. Alabama's squad finished 3rd in the Southeastern Conference after suffering losses to Mississippi State and Vanderbilt. Alabama was then invited to play Texas A&M in the January 1, 1942 Cotton Bowl. Coach Thomas' team defeated the Aggies 29-21 to finish the season 9-2-0. The outstanding players of the game were Holt Rast, Don Whitmire, and Jimmy Nelson. While the final AP Poll ranked the 1941 Alabama football team #20, the squad was selected national champions by Football Thesaurus.

And MSU went undefeated that year, finished #1 in the SEC and beat Alabama head to head. I never understood why we don't claim that one.. we have a legit claim.

For fans of a team that had a fricking hay ride to celebrate a championship, created by a Lee County middle schooler, based on internet fan votes, with the cutoff date revised to make sure AU "won", yall sure do talk a lot of shite about made up championships.

I'm referring to the 2004, Peoples Championship, just to be clear.

Would you like me to go by the Bryant Museum tomorrow to take a picture of the trophies and it them to you so you can put them in Arky's trophy case?

Caption on it could read

"See, these should be ours"

They could use a little polish though, perhaps your tears will suffice to wipe them down with.

It never gets old pointing out what an idiot you are.

Obviously, reading skills are lost on the in-bred masses that choose to be the lemmings in life.

Any true fan of college football knows when national championships were awarded pre-bowl and when they were awarded afterward.

The lame comments by the in-bred masses are akin to the comments of the Big12 pansies claiming OSU would give LSU a close game.

Get a clue - learn the history of the game.

To stupid to reply too...

Arkansas undefeated.

Alabama 1 loss.

Arkansas was voted the national championship just as Alabama was. Looking at the records it's easy to see who should claim it.

The AP and Coaches' Poll trophies for 1964 are still sitting in the Bryant Museum. Open daily 9-4. Cheap admission.

While you're there, get a shot of the trophies from the Football Thesaurus.

Cute.

Arkansas undefeated.
Alabama 1 loss.

1964. Enough said. Arkansas was voted the trophy also but you forget that don't you.

Hmm,... Let's have a dispute...... but one team is undefeated and one is not, who wins?

You're bitching and arguing about this, and can't answer a simple question?

It's the Grantland Rice Trophy (FWAA).
