Really what sucks for OM fans is we're going to be better this year.
Did last years team over achieve? Maybe a little. However, this years team will be good enough to win @ Auburn, @ UGA, and home vs LSU and Bama.
So, our 8-10 win season this year will be well deserved.

Ole Miss: 107th in points allowed
and lost most of their better defensive players

When your defense is that bad I don't think it matters who you lose. Yeah it would be nice to have Powe back but it's not going to kill us.

What sucks is we were 107th in points allowed, but around 41st for points scored with 16th or 18th in rushing. If our defense would've just halfway decent we would've had a decent year but hopefully our Defense will be better this year
Actually you're assuming you'll be better even though you lost key players to the NFL.
and yea this years team will probably be able to beat auburn and georgia without Cam and AJ, but I highly doubt you'll beat either LSU or Alabama. So yes once again your SEC wins will be from teams having a down year.

they're starting two freshmen DTs in front of a freshmen MLB.

Yeah you guys aren't going to feel the effects of losing all of your linebackers or a first round offensive tackle.

State lost Jamar Chaney who is now an NFL starter and didn't miss a beat last year. Brandon Maye is an All-ACC MLB who could end up in the NFL next year along with two other LBs who've been in the program for 2-3 years.

Just out of curiosity but who are the other linebackers that will be starting for State this season?
Posted on 8/1/11 at 1:02 am to 57stratdawg
Alabama will once again pound State.
Posted on 8/1/11 at 1:02 am to CoonassBulldog
there will be more than that. just 4-5 sure fire guys right now. Mullen has put 11 players in the NFL counting this year's UDFAs, eight without and six drafted.

Chris Hughes & Cam Lawrence
Cam has played since 2009 and Hughes played last year.
