I think it says a lot about Kelly wanting to coach in the SEC.

He has it made where he is at. Private school life for coaches especially Notre Dame are the easiest jobs in the industry especially if you can win. LSU is not an easy job considering they just fired a national championship winning head coach. He is 60 years old and could have retired there. Him taking the job shows he’s still hungry and wants a level playing field with Bama/Saban. Congrats LSU Riley going to USC might have saved your arse. Better hope he finds a kick arse OC

Really confused why this hire is getting shite on. He’s already a better coach than Jimbo Fisher.

Yea at least he has some balls leaving an Independent Notre Dame to join the SEC West while you have Riley shitting his pants at the thought and headed west

He also has beaten Eddie on the field.

He knows if Ed O can win a national championship here, he can win 2.

Yep. It's definitely for the best Riley ran away to California. Brian Kelly is the better coach imo and a good hire.

People can make fun but this is far better than most poking fun were expecting(if true). And I say this after making fun of LSU on the coaching changes board and saying Bert was on their list

Because it is LSU and this is the SEC Rant. It was inevitable.

Generally speaking I would agree with you. At his age, he could ride into the sunset in East Lafayette and play that ACC schedule and win.

Him taking a SEC job says he feels he has something to prove, or chase that national title. We'll see how it works. He's not recruited or coached in the south, or played this type of competition regularly, so we'll see how it plays out.

Agreed. I could see LSU competing next season with this hire. Aranda would have taken 2 season or more.

Agreed. Don't think it's a bad hire all things considered.

If it's true LSU is giving him a $120 million contract that's reason enough to leave ND. ND while they have way more money than LSU wouldn't pay Brian Kelly that much money. ND will spend some coin on Fickell or Urban Meyer.

Notre Dame currently has the 4th ranked upcoming recruiting class. That will likely change with this hire for obvious reasons but to say he can’t recruit is wrong. He’s doing that with Notre Dame’s 18% acceptance rate.
