3 losses wouldn't surprise or anger me. We lose a lot on defense.

Say we drop to Auburn, LSU and split the Carolina and Florida games.

We still win the East, and 2019 and 2020 are going to be better rosters anyway.

The fact that that is worst case scenario should tell y'all how fricked you all are.

I remember being enthusiastic when Muschamp almost took us to the national championship in 2012 (would have made the playoffs had they existed then). And then 2013 happened. He had talent too.

Just sayin', I know you guys are excited for what Kirby appears to be building, but I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch.

That word will get you "almost" every time.

He had defensive talent. He never developed a QB and your offense under Muschamp was bad. Did you see our offense or defense looking bad? And we have more talent spread out across offense and defense than Florida ever did while Muschamp was your coach. Lack of defense talent was never the issue. A severe lack of offensive talent and more pointedly a QB was a huge deficiency for Florida. If only Georgia had been able to recruit offensive players the last few years.

We all have said we expect 2-3 losses. But Florida fans are in this thread talking about how much talent Florida has.

He also never recruited a quarterback. Just saying, I don't see us losing to Georgia Southern any time soon.

Nobody's counting any chickens. The Muschamp comparison is just hopeful on your part, though.

A closer look at 2012 revealed fools gold. Your offense was horrid and y'all slid by some bad teams.

Going to be hard to win the East if you lose 3 conference games. Could lose the tiebreaker to Carolina/Florida in that scenario.

And you guys are just hopeful Smart doesn’t have the same fate. Not saying he absolutely will, just saying it’s possible.

It will definitely be tough to replace 3 LBs and our RB tandem.

The only challenge I see is replacing the Butkus Award winner. other than that.....

Contenders
Linebackers

Robert Beal

D'Andre Walker

Walter Grant

Running Back

Zamir White, Word is he is already running full speed...SEC fudged

The Real Deal Elijah Holyfield

Ask the Barn about this guy

Follow the recruiting from both coaches. Muschamp recruited and developed defense...only. As a result much of that defense that Muschamp recruited is sliding out the door. Smart has recruited well on both sides of the ball.

But yeah....Florida has all the talent.

We already know he won't, becuase in his entire tenure at UF muschamp never had an offense or above average QB play. Always had solid defnese though.

Not only has kirby proven to have a good defense, as well as recruit better than mushcamp ever did, and accomplish more on the field than muschamp ever did...he's proven he actually can field a good offense and has shown that QB almost surely won't be a problme.

Soooo after only 2 years I'd say we alreayd have proof that he's not another muschamp.

Aren't you the guy who was adamantly claiming that Florida would win the East all the way up to right before the cocktail party last year?

Your guy’s offense was so good because of 2 Mark Richt recruits that are now gone. It opened up your passing game by having such a good running game.

Muschamp didn’t get squat from Meyer. At least Smart inherited some really good players. Where he goes from here is anyone’s guess. But obviously having very highly rated recruiting classes helps. Butch Jones had some really highly rated ones too...

Are you expecting UGA to not have good running backs? Swift and Holyfield shredded UF last year.

Our OL was also good and returns 4/5 starters. Also returns the QB (who was good), top 2 TEs, and all but 1 WR.

Nothing even remotely like UGA just signed.

Well... football can’t get here soon enough. Should be a more exciting season for Florida and I think the east will be a tighter race than most are expecting.

We had the same rbs in 2015 and 2016, so what was the difference? Better qb, better wr, better blocking, better play calls.

Besides, It's not realistic if you expect To expect our run game to suffer going forward. Uga almost always has awesome rbs.

Butch jones never had a class close to what uga signed in 2016 or 2017, much less 2018.
