Winning eases that pain. Win something damn it!
Vandy has bowling and UK has Rifle. Mizzou needs to take baby steps and win something easy to start off with.
We have wrestling dammit!

In the real world in MO, not SECr, did everyday fans want the SEC as 1st choice? And how do they feel now?
And the real answer as I see it is, when there were rumors of the move to the B1G ten, it created talk. Of course, at that time, no one would have dreamed there was a chance of joining the SEC, so yes, there was some buzz. Now fast forward a year and there are rumors that the SEC might be an option. There wasn't talk. There wasn't a buzz. There was a flat out demand. A movement from the ground up with the Mizzou fans. It exceeded any "buzz" about the B1G by 100x's. Really was no comparison in my estimation.
Feel now? Losing sucks. But losing in the SEC has been more enjoyable than winning in the bevo whatever number is assigned today. In the bevo 10, other than isu, i rooted for everyone else to lose. It's refreshing rooting for even Arky to win when they play OOC.

The Mizzou to Big Ten thing had been rumored since Penn State joined the B1Gand the Big 8/12 thing.
For many of us it was understood that if a move was ever going to be made, that was it.
Once Nubby came in and got the spot there was a desperation for many. Realizing there's a chance we'd be stuck getting raped by Bevo for the foreseeable future, or worse, out in the cold with the kansas crew and ISU.
The excitement from everyone I know's end when it came to the SEC was amplified by the events of the two decades prior not working in our favor.
I'm confident that three years ago getting a Mizzou fan to say they preferred moving to the SEC versus the Big 10 if a move had to be made would be damn near impossible. Especially if they lived north of Springfield.
It wasn't even on the radar. If it was, I think you'd have still been pretty hard pressed to find one.
Revisionist history is what is is, but I'm confident saying we were the first major conference realignment school that wasn't exactly expected to move where it did.

From what I understand back in the day South Carolina was a surprise.
I guess I don't get it because I saw Missouri as a much better option than say a West Virginia, a Maryland, or an Oklahoma State.

Never forget, if it wasn't for Mizzou (and Sheldon) you wouldn't have "Old Man Football!"

Serious question. How are you guys doing this season? Also, when is the season?
You need to win as an SEC school beating B1G schools and what you did in the Big 8 and Big 12 does not count.

Last I checked we were ranked #6 and we just placed 3rd in the NWCA national duals with a victories over #5 Ohio State and #2 Iowa.

Anytime an SEC school beats the Buckeyes in anything that is worthy of a drink!

Season is ongoing. Like KC said, they're pretty much kicking arse so far this year. They also have a commitment from a kid who's won 4 straight state championships and is ranked #1 nationally at his weight and turned down an invite to the Olympic Training Center to wrestle at Mizzou coming in next year.

Southeast means Southeast. Missouri will bolt to the Big 10 to join Nebraska, if given the opportunity. Missouri is more aligned with Michigan, Ohio State and others with the big 10.

As much as we should, we probably won't.
The vast majority of our population is closer to the Big 10 than the SEC, but even the hicks down in Southern Missouri deserve their day in the sun.
We're counting on the SEC excitement to turn Cape Girardeau into the Des Moines of the south.

You couldn't be more wrong. If this is a troll attempt it's pretty weak sauce.

Mizzou and it's fans are thrilled to be in the SEC. The rustbelt 10 can piss up a rope.

You do realize you may be south but you are not east and therefore you are not southeast.
