I think they've got that coordinator in Monken, now. He just needs a QB he can do things with.
Yeah 1/2 of the game he did, everyone knows that Bennett is limited. Monken went away from the run and staying balanced. Basically he panicked after being down 10, Bennett had several passes batted down so you move pocket to give your QB easier throws and passing lanes.

Georgia abandoned the run because it stopped being effective.
When did it stop being effective? We averaged almost 5 ypc.
We had a 4 pt lead at half and for some reason we passed 5 times on 1st down in the 3rd qtr and passed 9 outta of our 17 snaps. It didn't make much sense to put the game in Bennett's hands but we did.
Our best defense was keeping Bama's
offense off the field. We obviously weren't gonna slow em down with the way the game was being called.

Naw, Kirby told some lies, and broke some recruiting promises, and Newman called him out for it. Good for Newman.
Naw, Newman got beat out in the fall practices, was told he likely wasn't starting, and he chose to opt out. You, as an Alabama guy should know how these things work, because you've had a shitload of players transfer once Saban told them they weren't starting there. Happens all the time.

The QB had numerous balls batted down. Really need a 6 '4 or taller QB who is mobile...Trevor like.

YOU CANT WIN WITH THE RUN WHEN YOU ARE 17 POINTS DOWN IN THE 4TH QUARTER -- GOOD CHRIST!

Who beat him out?

The game has infinite time so why not just keep running?

[quote]Receivers running open is a constant excuse people make to claim a cord is good. Part of his job is designing a game plan the QB can execute. If the QB can not find open receivers, that is on cords and QB development. We had the same "open receivers" with Muschamp and Mac. [quote]
Uh, UGA did not have receivers running wide open often last year...except against Florida.

No one beat him out. He got some advice from an outsider and took it.

Bennett missed a couple of wide open guys underneath last Sat. maybe just too short to see them

Georgia is missing a modern quarterback. It wouldn’t matter if they hired Kiffin, Sark, or Brady they would still lose to a high powered offense without a competent passer. Alabama found this out in 2016 and much of 2017. Had they had Justin Fields last Saturday they would’ve probably won. I have no idea If JT Daniels is much better than Bennett, but if he is not then he will probably suffer the same thing vs Bama that Bennett did.
FTR yes I know Jalen got better in year 3 and 4 of his college career, but when Clemson, Auburn, and Georgia totally shut down the run in 16 and 17 he was a total liability.

All they needed to do is run and that game would’ve been over before the 4th quarter.
You missed a great second half of Alabama football. Bama was balanced in this game. Throwing for 400 yards and Najee getting another 150 on the ground. The first thing you have to do is realize that Alabama exposed the dawgs defense with almost 600 total yards. They literally sat on the ball and took the air out in the 4th quarter. They got what they wanted when they wanted it. Speed kills and the number of receivers with NFL potential Bama can put on the field is astounding. Georgia's running game is not outscoring this Bama team. Alabama has the best QB in the SEC and running back, and wide receivers, and offensive line.
Bama's offense attacked the Georgia defense for 3 quarters, not 4. It could have been worse. That's not going to change if we see these 2 teams again in Atlanta.
