And I still can't believe the 'Human Poll' and 'Coaches Poll' portions of the BCS DROPPED 12-1 Oklahoma State after they destroyed former #1 Oklahoma by six touchdowns in the Big 12 Title game...
And, simultaneously, they moved 11-1 and 3d place in the SEC ala. AHEAD of Okla State - magically, after the coach of ala went on national TV and moaned that his team should get in on name only.

It's a shame OK State didn't get a chance to play in the natty after that 9-6 fiasco. They probably had enough offense to beat either one of you.

Oklahoma St lost to a team they shouldn't have. Alabama's only loss was in OT to LSU after missing multiple FG's that could have won the game.
It's not complicated.

Yeah, nothing says championship material like losing a game to a team that only became bowl eligible as a result of it. 6 point loss.

The next night LSU played Bama in Tuscaloosa.
LSU won the opening tip, and when they crossed halfcourt the Bama student section gave them a standing ovation.

Conference championships have nothing to do with national championships.
Which is why Alabama was able to play and beat Georgia in one, and then play them again in the NCG.
You can cry about such things if you want, but the NC was about picking best teams, not conference champions.

Miami did when they played Nebraska in the 2002 Rose Bowl. Miami actually showed up in that game, however, and took care of business.
