Lol bear quit and died just because one of his old assistants was about to start beating that arse. Saban left the circus and is killing it right now

I don’t really care about how their coaching careers ended. I’ve seen 5x more National Championships in my lifetime than you and your great great great grandchildren will ever experience. You and your university’s programs are bottom feeders - own it and move on.

I think he just wasn't up to having to recruit his entire roster every year.

This is basically what it boiled down to.

As soon as the team got back from the Rose Bowl, rather than players coming to him talking about goals for next season (which is typically how it played out), they were coming to him asking how much money the school was willing to pay to keep them on the roster. That's when he knew he was done.

Saban sat there and said no one in college football talks about the education side anymore. Something needs to be done about that. Well yeah. 95% of players in college football today do not give a rip about the educational side Any longer.

Saban actually looks pretty healthy for age 72. How did he not get fat while living in the South, like many other tubby SEC coaches and their team’s fans? Good diet without too many hush puppies? Exercise (golf cart golf does not count)? Good genetics?

Do y’all Alabama baws have answers to these healthy living questions?? Such knowledge could help portly coaches like Elko and Smart out …

Do athletes have any less of an opportunity to get a degree now vs. before NIL and the portal? Not at all. If the school jumping fricks with your degree track, then when your eligibility is up (if the NFL doesn’t call) settle down and finish your degree with seven figures in the bank while still in your early/mid twenties. I can think of worse situations. Players have a lot of opportunities today. It’s up to them what they do with them. Some will do well and others will frick up. In what arena of life is that not the case?

This is a good take. So a college player gets hurt in college or otherwise does not make it to the NFL, but the player has put $1M+ of NIL funds into the bank. A kid in their 20s normally has most of their life still ahead of them. They would have plenty of time and funds to finish their education at their school(s) of choice, without needing to simultaneously work the check out window at Burger King…

Most of these players probably don’t read or math at a high school senior level.

I don't know about that, though I do suppose a lot of the athletes probably have a lot of crip courses or aren't actually doing the work. Online classes would make this much easier than back in the day. Anyway, this is interesting to me....

Everyone is whining about nil. He's the voice of reason representing sanity. Every fan base has been calling for him to speak out. It's only offensive to dumbasses like you.
