CEO inherited basically no SEC talent at OM other than Patrick Willis and nearly pantsed Less with his veteran, highly ranked team. He built a monster roster at OM, just didn't quite get the signature win he needed. Context matters

You bend over and dump a steaming pile of revisionist history in this thread, and then tell everyone that context matters?

Orgeron was an absolute dumpster fire at ole miss. He was in over his head and wasn't ready to be a head coach. He's learned since then, but what he's learned is to hire good coaches and get out of the way because left to his own devices, he will frick it up.

It doesn't hurt to have 5 star talent at every position either. Hell, Les Miles won at LSU. That's all you need to know.

He didn't do well in terms of W-L (hardly a surprise considering he was a first time HC and what he inherited) but he left them much better off than he found them. You really can't argue otherwise. Nutt was just the caretaker for the team he built. Would CEO have done as well as Nutt? No one can say. CEO made hired two OC's that didn't work out at OM: Mazzone and Werner; that's what led to him failing there most of all

Had a buddy who was a walk on under Cutcliffe. First team meeting Coach O had he said "raise your hand if you're a walk on. Alright, get the frick out.

Why?

If that really happened one of them should have went up there and knocked his arse out with a folding chair. Even if he had said ok, walkons you are going to earn your way onto my team that would have been fine. But to just walk in a treat them kids like garbage is bullshite.

It was the red bull coursing through his veins that led to his maniacal actions
