Those old school coaches didn't have apparel contracts to fulfill.

I like the coat and tie. Hate just the shirt and tie. Can't stand the t shirts. Look somewhat professional even if it's a Polo as Saban wore.

Les miles said he dressed the same so he was easier to find on the sideline by other coaches and players.

I’m not a fan of polos myself but for the coaches it’s a good look.
I can see why they’re wearing the thin hoodies though those things feel like you’re wearing nothing. Esp with how some stadiums in the south are still 90+ degrees with humidity.
