florida had playing time all over the field. Last year they didnt. 2 deep on D and lot of holdovers on O also. This year, Fl had playing time to offer and did,as did Auburn and Tejas.

It's all good Bama has another top class and the best coach in all Football

Congrats to all the SEC teams that dominated signing day

Roll Tide! #1

someone has to be #1. I don't care if it's Florida, Auburn, LSU,.....I don't care !! #1 is just a relative term, unless you're talking about the last poll of the year, which was....who
We filled our needs, bottom line !! CNS knows what he's doing.....and he's done it so well that he can be selective now How many other programs would have, or COULD have, turned down the "package deal" with Keenan Allen

LINK for KA rejection
QUOTE FROM CNS:
"Keenan Allen is a fine young man and a great player," Saban said. "We recruited him for a long time. We have a lot of respect for the family. I think that somewhere along the line - 10 days ago - the circumstances changed relative to his brother Zach getting a release and transferring and the two of them wanting to go to school (together). Then it becomes a matter as to whether we can take both guys or not. I think the people that could obviously had a big advantage. We were not in a position to do that because we were full."

I think y'all should seriously consider firing Saban before he brings the program down. I'm afraid it looks as if it's already begun. Cut your losses before anymore damage is done.

Dude, we took 2 Tight Ends, 2 Kickers and a FB who has not played since 2008 and we still finished in the top 5.

I don't give a shite about it being the number 4 recruiting class according to rivals. That's what people don't get. I'm personally evaluating how we did based on what our needs are and how we filled them. Did we need 5 of the exact same type of player? I don't feel so. The fact remains that we still have issues with pass blocking and elite WRs.

I'm not unsatisfied. We've just won the national championship and I think if you're grading on a curve....Alabama gets a B+. We couldve done better. All I here from our staff is about being excellent and not resting on your accomplishments. That's what i'm doing. I'm wanting better. Things went good....I love Phillip Sims, Fulton, Milliner, Jarrick and a lot of other guys.....but we could've always done better.

"Besides, Meyer, out recruited all SEC coaches this year"

Florida's class this year is a direct result of their 08 championship. Bama's class next year will be just as good because of their 09 championship. An there's not an Alabama fan out there that is disappointed in Saban. Dude is the shiznit.

So how does Florida do it cause they are just as loaded as yall.

Does Florida get a #1 class every year??

I'm not sure why this matters

Ya'll don't get the number 1 class every year either.OK, now I'm confused as to what i was arguing because the gumpishness has rubbed off onto me.

"I'm personally evaluating how we did"

Please, dont ever apply for a coaching position at Alabama. Stick to doing whatever it is that you do.

I can't wait till we start seeing posts addressing the Alabama fans who are dissapointed with a #4/#5 ranking at the end of the season. If anything is going to drive Saban away, it's that. Part of the reason he left LSU is because some fans were dissapointed with 9-3 in 2004. He hasn't seen anything yet when it cones to unreasonable post-NC expectations, the gumps are already acting like they shouldn't lose a game for the next 4 years, and given the way they hounded Les for his 2 loss seasons with Saban's players, God knows what the fallout will be.

Is it just me or are Bama Fans starting to sound like some LSU Fans?
Pretty ironic. Yes, Bama spurned by some recruits yesterday.

Looks like the "process" of running off a great coach because of unreasonable expectations has started a little earlier than i thought.

this good Lord. People are getting a little rediculous. Relax I like the fact we only signed 26 and had we not need a kicker and punter we would have been fine only getting 24. This year will be a good recruiting yr with a NC to sell. I thought LSU fans were spoiled.

FWIW, I meant some felt let down on actual NSD, because we weren't involved in any hat tricks or excitement. We got a kick arse class, and if you think otherwise your n idiot.

Lots of great players that would've made the top 10 in either or our last two recruiting classes. But we had this built in excuse that we were "recruiting for need". It's just a line. You can't say you recruited for need if none of the players you are bringing in are going to start next year. You recruit for need EVERY year.

Tell that to Coach Saban. He said those exact words, and that was the case for this year's class.

ere definitely were flaws in the way we went about it this year though. I have no clue why we needed 4 or 5 WRs who are all 6 foot 180 lbs and run 4.5 40s. Every wide receiver we brought in was the same guy. Why not put the heat on Hunter or Jeremy Richardson.

I guess we need to hire your arse right now to replace Cignetti as recruiting coordinator.

In summary: Very good class. We shouldn't act like it's not but also shouldn't act like we lit the world on fire. Ultimately, we're a spoiled fan base now....but Saban talks on and on about outworking people and not being content. Well...this is a product of not being content. Pretty good class.....could've been better

You're the type of fan that gives Alabama fans a bad name.

Jesus, shite like this amazes me. We just won a national title, have incredible depth, and added some amazing players, and people still want to bitch. Get the frick out of here.

I don't know what the frick is up with internet gangsters.

Look, last time I checked, a B+ was pretty fricking good. I didn't come in here and complain....I said because of it being a down year in state and us having to prepare for the national championship, we didn't do as well in recruiting overall as we did the last couple of years.

I'm not trying to run off the staff. I'm very happy with everything Alabama has done. What were our two glaring weaknesses last year? Pass protection and outside WR play. We addressed neither of those.

BTW, a B+ is the grade I give based on how a staff does with what they are selling. I thought 08 was an A+ and 09 was an A.

I'd give Auburn's staff an A this year and our staff a B+ even though the classes are ranked about the same and I technically wouldn't trade theirs for ours.....but what their staff did in selling their program to out of state kids and pulling in big names in relation to where their program is was, to me, more impressive this year than what we did.

I try to remain fair and balanced and give an honest analysis and I catch shite because i'm not blowing rainbows out of my arse. It was a very good class. Things could've swung better. I don't evaluate talent for a living but I do it for a hobby and I'm at least as qualified as anyone on here....so eat shite

shite goes in cycles, we've had the top class in the country two years in a row, its just not going to happen every year and its not simply playing time related, some years you just have a bit more luck. We have of course a large section of the fanbase which is neurotic as hell and gets personally offended when a player doesn't want to come be a part of "the process", will it run Saban off, I don't know. Probably not that in itself.

The only thing about this class that was a letdown was just the fact that NSD was boring as hell. We're loaded, there's nothing to worry about.

It doesn't have to, and that's not what he's selling. He landed a consensus top 5 class, which 2 of the 3 major recruiting outlets place as 2nd in the SEC only behind Florida - without having to playing that game. We'll be fine.
