He’ll yeah we did. I said two things that we’ll look back on as worst decisions (excluding potato head) in AU football could be not hiring Kirby and Summerall. Kirby is not acknowledged much as even thinks he’d moved on to UGA anyway, but for an ex- HC AD to not make Summerall happenis ridiculous. Especially with his ties here.

I was super impressed with him this past week

that tracks, as the kids say

theres still something skeezy about Sumrall, but there’s little doubt his team was far better prepared last week - we’ll see if that works out for them long term

i’m still happy we ended up with Golesh as he’s by far the best HC we could’ve gotten given the belligerent incompetence of our administration

i think we need to settle in and give him a chance to establish himself - and i agree Cohen needs to GTFO but its likely whomever we hire to replace him will be no better

Based on a WSJ article Sumrall stressed the offseason workouts to get better and I imagine they stressed it a lot more than we did.

That stupid sled video had me shaken in my boots and I no longer trust Golesh and neck tattoo strength and conditioning coach.

Physicality transcends offensive play calling. That's why I am worried Sumrall is for real.

Yes Sumrall has a great OC calling the game. That OC will eventually be HC one day. But if he can keep the physicality it's merely next man up calling the plays.

Football is about who has the best players. Jon talked his best to stay. We didn't really aquire anyone that can change a game. We have bottom of the SEC type players, and we will finish bottom of the SEC. Even UKs coach knows you need players to win.

Kensucky outbid Auburn for multiple Olinemen in the portal, because they didn’t have as many spots to fill. It’s not like they didn’t identify good talent in the portal and go after them. It’s just that the roster has been really mismanaged for a long time. GusShortBus didn’t believe in signing Olinemen and went hard after skill guys. Freeze did the same. Haskins didn’t recruit at all.

Yes, they outbid us. Then Auburn had to pivot to the James Madison kid, 69 who is a dumpster fire, and the Stanford kid.

His people were preportaling because he knew he was going up a level. Golesh's team wasn't doing that. He got caught flat footed. Auburn's talent level was also below FL so it made the decision easier to do. Take FL job, big backing and move on. Time is the factor that will tell who is the better HC over time say 5-6 years. That will include the entire process, talent acquisition, money, wins, etc...

We should never get outbid by old piss either, but we have been. Auburn and Cohen better get onboard with going all in on the dirty NIL game, or we’ll continue to see a shite product no matter who the coach is.

Ole Miss is doing dirty shite.

Maybe we just need a new AD.

I dont see us pushing the envelope anytime soon.

Woe is me moral losses like Arkansas's is no way to run a program

And we are headed there

Cohen should’ve been fired after the shite he pulled last year with his “interpretation” of the NIL rules.

LOL all this talk of Florida in comparison to Auburn.

Muschamp, McElwain, Mullin, Napier, LOL.

Florida struggled mightily to get an indoor facility and football facility.

Their resources will be drained by having to spend $1.5 billion on a stadium they let become a dump.

Chizik gave Auburn a national championship in 3 years.
The Malzahn run, in total, was slightly above average, with an SEC championship and another runner up in 10 years or so.

The Auburn admin has since replaced 2 bad coaches as fast as humanly possible.

Big shock in a 5th try, Florida might be good again - and this is very much in doubt long term as anyone can tell that Buster Faulker is a part of early predicted success (based on one game against Auburn...).

Buster was all in coming here with Sumrall. It was a done deal until Cohen renegotiated Dunkin’s contract.

This is an example of the most “Auburn being Auburn” behavior.

Fans pretending to know inside information. You may have been told this by someone or you may have made it up - either way it is inaccurate.

No one (who posts publically) has any idea what goes on at the top of the program.

No one.

You want to know how I know these facts? Because (many coaches ago) I had an extremely close relationship with someone at the highest level of AU Athletics. This person no longer works there.

And he would laugh at all the rumors and speculation and finebaum crap that was spread. Zero of it was true.

Once, to prove it to me - he told me to remember the number (xxxxxx). What I thought was a random 6 digit number.

13 days later it turned out to be the birth date of the coach we hired who was not on anyone’s “discussion list”.

Please, for the sake of Auburn, stop writing things that are not true and make us look bad. We have a hard enough time winning the uphill battles against the state schools without our own fans creating fake conflict at the administration level.

Me,

I wouldn't be wasting anymore time transforming a 5th year senior QB when we don't have the oh'line to support such a plan.

But it was a go for it plan. And while we had made upgrades everyone knew this wasn't going to be a 16-0 endeavor. So to me that's a wash. The tell will be what changes coach makes next and who we pay after that.

Although who knows what a game free of sucking (69), hesitation (QB need to be given a freshman's offense), and without the defense scoring will do to change my net neutrality. . .
