So, McFadden is going to the HOF?

Without a doubt he will be in the college football HOF. He won the Walter Camp Award, 2 Doak Walker Awards, the Jim Brown Trophy, was two time SEC offensive player of the year, two time consensus all-american, and three time all-SEC first team.

So will Tim Tebow. At least he won something.

Looks like you proved OP's point eh?

What is considered the "golden years" of LSU basketball? The Dale Brown era?

Any year we get past round 2, because in all those years we wear gold.

There is only one program in the SEC that is a top 20 program all time in all three major sports. That's Arkansas. LSU is a Johnny come lately football program who dabbles baseball. Nothing more.

Top 20 all time and relevant last century in one? You keep repeating that like it means something. You have never won a CWS you have never won a sec championship in football and your glory years in basketball were over 2 decades ago.

Uh, no. I believe Shaq went on to win an NBA Championship or two? Not sure if McFadden ever won a SB.

I would take our 93-94 team against the LSU best of all time team by 30 points.

Now that's just a stupid statement. Especially considering the fact that yall only beat the LSU basketball team that same year
84 - 83 and 108 - 105 in the 2 games we played each other.

Why the frick are we talking about McFadden?

Besides OBJ, who the frick does LSU have from a football standpoint that is an all time great?

Matt Flynn? Jamarcus? Fournette? Landry? Reed? Bunch of frickin scrubs consdering what they did in college.

At least Arkansas has Lance Alworth and Matt Jones.

Shaq sat in the backseat and let Kobe and Dwayne Wade drive the car.

You guys should really stop embarrassing yourselves. If you're gonna talk shite, at least know what you're talking about. I have a ton of respect for Arky football. Had some great teams many, many years ago. But don't try and belittle LSU's NFL tradition because you've got a small dick.

Pete Maravich was clearly one of the best players to ever come through the collegiate ranks. 44 points per game is a record that is unlikely to ever be broken. And he did that all when they didn't have a three point line on the court. And he bombed a lot of shots from deep. With a 3 point line he would have averaged 50. A truly great player.

That being said, I think he benefited from being more of an innovator than anything. He changed the game. And since then the game has evolved.

If there really were an all-time greats game between LSU and Arkansas, I would like Lee Mayberry's chances against him. But again, Pistol Pete was fantastic.

ETA: It's kinda like the old argument about Jordan. Is Jordan the greatest ever? I think he is and I don't care what kind of numbers Westbrook or James throw up. Jordan is the greatest player of all time because he changed the game (like Maravich), but he did it at the professional level while winning multiple titles.

That being said, if Jordan and James squared off in their prime, James is a better individual talent.

This all time argument is so dumb. LSU has accomplished next to nothing despite having a full cupboard. They may very well be the most underperforming team in NCAA history. Name another program with the kind of athletes LSU has had and accomplished so little. And no way I'm taking an LSU all time team over Arkansas anyhow. LSU has nobody to coach them and that means the world. Now maybe if they had coach K it would be a different story.

Well yeah. They may have had the greatest collegiate player to ever play the game and never even made a tourney. Lol

Same as when they recently had the #1 overall pick in the NBA draft and still didn't win shite.

You're right. It's all about the coach. It's about the system. Not about showcasing a single player's talent.

Consider this...

In Arkansas's last game they forced 27 turnovers and dished 27 assists. 49 points off turnovers.

The next time LSU has a team capable of playing ball like that will be the first frickin time.

Well, they're a baseball school. Other sports aren't really important to them.

What’s up with this obsession from Arkansas about LSU basketball?!! According to y’all, we suck so why do y’all care so much? We get it y’all won the national title once and we haven’t big deal, nobody even cares.

That was alot of talent at LSU for not winning a championship. State got a Final Four with an average NBA player on the team.
