It's a fair question. What about NCAA tournament banners? Adding a year is pretty big to an Auburn

I know we wouldn’t be in, but if we were in this case I’d be all for a “undefeated in ncaa tournament 2020” banner

And the frick with us. “Well see, if Arkansas had won that 2nd round game vs Carolina they’d be in right now”

Nearly 10 of the top coaches in college basketball have spoken and are on board with the following idea, source told me.

- Selection Sunday on as planned.

- Postpone the NCAA Tournament and continue to monitor the situation.

“We all talked, and agree on this,” once told me.

That’s stupid.
Why cancel the conference tournaments?

It will also be an illegitimate championships because by the time they are able to play it, players will be getting ready for the NBA and you won’t see the same teams.

This isn’t going to be some 1-3 week push. We are looking at late April, maybe May.

Look, this isn't fair for bubble teams but this is a much better idea imo than just canceling outright

By the time they can hold it, no one will care anymore and everyone will be pissed.

We have to wait out this whole outbreak mess.
Then they have to figure out plans of how to get student athletes that may not even be on school campuses to practice and get to whatever tournament sites are still available
Then they have to deal with teams potentially turning down bids because they logistically can’t make the delay work.
Then they have to reseed and deal with the fallout of that.

I get that there is massive money involved so they are still grasping at hope, but I just don’t see it.

100% disagree, people are going to be pissed but they will get over it quickly.

Its not going to be simple but people will gladly take all of that over not having it at all. There will be a time table though, they are not going to delay it 2-3 months or more. Which could possibly change nothing but beats canceling it up front.

Many have already accepted in their minds its not happening at all so it would be some small good news to say its delayed for now.

That all being said, I still think they will just announce it is canceled.

I think announcing it is delayed and then cancelling it down the road is much worse.

Some will agree with that but people are going to be pissed regardless. I can at least understand their logic more by delaying it with a certain timetable put into place and be glad they at least tried.

I don't know what world you live in. They have started a financial free fall that is going to be causing a lot of pain in short order. I work in an industry involved with advertising and in the past 24 hours nearly every customer is cancelling or cutting back on advertising (in some cases for the entire year). So everyone is just waiting for the ax to fall as layoffs will be involved. It is a waterfall effect and it won't be pretty.
