It's been in the works for awhile

And there ain't nothing stopping it.

OU isn't gonna wallflower themselves out of this next rotation, and they've been talking to the SEC for awhile.

My OU booster friends started telling me about a move to the SEC around 2014.

They took it to the AD last year.

It didn't get put out to pasture at all, in fact it got put on the warmer for later sabre rattling.

They have been ready to force the issue for a year or so.

Check the date on last years thread, it was right around this time.

Ain't gonna happen.

Reminds me of the libtards thinking Trump is about to be impeached.

Much ado about nothing.

Sooners are not SEC bound. Weak minded fans can stop with their panic attacks.

Okie would be crushed with a regular SEC schedule.

If they are bound for anywhere it will be the PAC 12 where they are desperate for legitimacy.

Crushed, no. 8-4? Real possibility.

Ironically, the early success of aTm and Mizzou created a vacuum in the donor base as far as Big 12 opinions were concerned. They realized right away that a conference consisting of OU and UT as the billboard teams wouldn't cut it.

The first year of the playoffs sealed off the base money people, its all but done. They're leaving, now they're just shopping themselves.

It's gonna happen, it's just a matter of do we want them or not?

I have zero contacts inside the SEC, so I have no idea, other than knowing that OU initially put their feet in the water last year.

(Edited for grammar)

Why are people freaking out about this? This is all just a rumor. OU is not joining the SEC.

So far all I've heard is the talk of a swap. Missou for OU. And each SEC school has to pay 20 mil a piece to the B12 since they're getting the shaft in this trade.

Boosters are 50/50 SEC and B1G.

They feel like the can shop their products to create a demand because they understand that while the tv numbers aren't where the SEC or B1G would like them to be at for a move, the nationwide brand can be a selling point.

No one else is doing this yet, with the exception of Kansas, who have hiked up their skirt to the B1G as well, but only passingly based on a marked improvement from the football program.

I put the Kansas stuff out with a giant asterisk because it comes via my OU guys.

For once, I agree with the old coot. It has to be a mutual agreement. The SEC is not looking to expand again. Espically after they just expanded barley 5 years ago. A few OU boosters can't just make the entire OU athletic department and the SEC front office make that type of move.

But but...the booster friend said so!?!

It's a done deal, y'all. It's already updated on Wikipedia. Undeniable truth.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I have no problem if inevitable expansion includes OU. Always respected the Sooner program even if their coach is a windbag. They have to remove themselves from OSU though. I don't know how that could happen.
