Why do LSU fans think no one does when there's so much evidence to the contrary? If no one cares, why is the league bending over backwards to protect it? Why did ESPN say "lol, yeah right, put LSU in the 11 am slot this weekend." Why hewligan why?

I'll tell you why: its one of the most prestigious rivalries in the history of the sport. Just the way it is.

I'm more interested in why SPUAT nation thinks that UT not complaining about a game it wants is relevant in a discussion about competitive balance

The fact that 2001 happened proves that it is an issue that the conference continues to struggle with.

LSU's time in the sun is over and they know it,,...,it was over at 00:00 January 9th,,,,instead of focusing on taking care of their business they whine incessantly about Bama,....LSU will never be in Bamas league ...,,

Tough schedule for LSU again. Oh well, bring em on. We'll sit through some entertaining games.. while Alabama has yet another season filled with cream puffs.

Playing UGAs 3-4 will be good for the team.

Your posts are so irrelevant to this thread, you should probably just start your own troll thread and let people discuss this issue without you.

This is ridiculous.

I'd rather watch awesome football than shite games. Playing Georgia and Florida is awesome football. Alabama vs Tennessee is an awesome rivalry and has produced some f'ing awesome games. Yeah tenn sucks now, but that won't be true forever. Whining about wanting to play crappy games is for fricking worthless bandwagon fans. Real fans want to actually watch decent games, not top tier vs shite.

I am having trouble finding your last post on topic.

On topic, at least Athens is a fun trip. Maybe SPUAT will get a change to see it before a decade. Have fun in beautiful Lexington.

Honest question. Do you really believe that the reason that Bama fans want to maintain the TSIO is because they think it's an easy win?

It's pretty much only because Tenn ratted out Alabama for being cheating scum, tbh.

"Culture of cheating" and all.

Well, you can whine and complain about things you can't control or you can look forward to the multiple good games you have on your schedule next year.

Looks like Bama has a damn easy schedule this year compared to the bulk of the SEC

You do realize that part of the reason many of those teams have highly ranked SOS is because they play the very team you 'tards are bitching about - Alabama. The other reason is they play LSU and Florida. When you play the #1 team in the nation, you're SOS is going to go way up.

You also need to realize that Bama can't play the #1 team, aka themselves, so they don't benefit in the same way as other teams, like A&M, do. Playing the #1 team increases your SOS more than playing a lower ranked #6 LSU, for example.

If you pitted the entire top 10 against one another, one game at a time, every team ranked after #1 would have a higher sos than #1 by the very nature that #1 can't play themselves.

Nobody knew the Gators would be great this year. Nobody knew S. Carolina would be as good as they are. Nobody knew ND would be good. The biggest thing is that nobody knew Arkansas was going to suck this year - and nobody predicted Auburn to almost be 0-6 at this point!

To further that point...no one predicted Auburn to be great in '10, either.

So, I find it hilarious that some of you know how unpredictable things can be and yet you still suggest that Bama should break a rivalry game with TN - a game that's been going on since our grandparents were just a gleen in our great grandparent's eyes - all so Alabama can play who? Georgia? S. Car? Florida?

Yeah, go ahead and schedule that for 2014 and I'll take bets - who can guarantee any of those teams will be great in 2014?
