I think LSU will be a very good football team under Kiffin.

Will they become the consistent playoff participant and championship(s) winning program under Kiffin that LSU’s money and many fans are counting on?

Not a soul here knows 100% for certain.

That’s why trophy cases are filled based on the games actually played and not the hype.

i mean ole miss has been paying players legally or illegally for a very long time, that’s not new.

what was new was you had the right coach to funnel it through. that has changed

Bingo.

We always wanted to pay the players. Now it is legal and the NCAA cant kill us for doing it.

Its great.

Lane’s players

You’re going to find out really quick that Lane doesn’t do much recruiting.

ETA: This is 100% the reason he left. The whole LSU-recruits-itself mindset that no longer exists. We’ll see how he adapts.

It was a hire for the next 6 years, not 6 months. I do think yall got a little too confident in Lane’s ability to recruit our roster though.

only head coach to last more than 5 since 1960 seems to be Les Miles - so (X) for doubt

he does scout though, and OM doesn’t have the HS infrastructure LSU does

I have not been paying attention cause Tech is landing pretty much every portal player they want. Is Lane not? Is that the issue?

The contract is committed for 6 years. They’re paying him for that amount (or 80% of it).

Nah, obviously you figure out if the guy’s a fit in 6 weeks, may as well pay the buyout now.

You’re being factually dishonest. He did not want to coach your team next year. That was the stipulation to being able to coach the team in the playoffs.

To all of the asshats that downvoted, tell me why that’s not correct. Because the facts are facts.

Because it does not make one damned iota of sense given the post you responded to.
