Yeah bama fans should shut up about national championships. Y'all, like everybody else have no legitimate championships. Not a road you wanna go down.

Someone could claim that all records before integration are illegitimate.

Of course, in college football, there's never been a true National Champion.

True but y'all claiming the 1964 title is almost as bad as us claiming the 41 title because no major organization awarded either title. The AP poll was the major poll after 1936 and they awarded us the 64 championship, opposing fans probably don't like it but that was legit back then.

I also agree that we need a playoff but we can only go by what's in place.

That's easy for a program with no real championship history, and hasn't won a title of any kind since 1989, to say.

You can come and look at the AP trophy from 1964 any time. It's in the Bryant Museum. Take a left as soon as you walk in the door, and follow the exhibits to the back. It's nice and shiny.

As some Hog fans have pointed out in this thread, it's what the NCAA recognizes. Well, the NCAA recognizes 1964 for Alabama, just like the other poll era titles (1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, and 2009), as well as giving 1925, 1926, 1930, and 1934 their due.

And last I checked this was a thread about football. Why are you talking about basketball? Why not throw some track numbers in there too?

Bama was beaten in the bowl by Texas, who finished with one loss.

That one loss was to Arkansas who finished as the lone undefeated team that season.

Well, I'm convinced.

This is a flawed argument from Arkansas fans. If there's no true champion in college football, as you all put it, then what in the hell is Arkansas putting money into their football program for? Why are you playing the games? I mean, if it all means nothing, then why do you give a shite?

If we want to go there, Bama has multiple disputible titles.

The year after that happened to Arkansas the AP started voting after the bowls.

We have a banner in our stadium, and we were better than Bama that year.

Ole Miss has a banner too. I'd rather have the AP trophy that's sitting in the Bryant Museum.

No. Your argument is flawed. If the NCAA really awards a national championship in fbs football, then prove it.

I just want to know how you guys choked so bad when you had three starting NFL RB's in the same backfield and couldn't do more than you did.

They recognize poll titles. It's easy to have your stance when your program hasn't been relevant since the 80s. If Arkansas had competed for, or won anything of significance, since 1989 you might view it differently. I guarantee you wouldn't have this stance if Arkansas had won a national title recently.

I didn't realize Arky and Bama played that year.

You don't have to. When one team is undefeated, and the other loses to a team the first team beat, it's pretty straight forward.
