Ack had the game of his life against Tennessee. He wasn't as sharp against UF, and our fielders namely Thompson made errors that extended innings and led to a grand slam that pretty much put the game out of reach. At that point we threw Collins, Little, and Dutton, some of our worst bullpen guys just to eat innings and outs to get the game over with and save our better pitching for the next day. Johnson didn't care what the score would end up being because at the end of the day whether it was 2-1 or 30-1 or 24-4 it only counts as 1 win.

LSU came back today with their better pitchers that they saved, and UF was spent, and it showed. The batters stepped up and the fielders were much cleaner as well. They play 2/3 for a reason. This isn't football.

Maybe as a Bama fan you'd educate yourself. Bama was the 1 seed in 97 and beat LSU in 3/5 games in the regular season/SECT including a 28-2 beatdown. When the CWS final came around LSU won 13-6. History remembers LSU winning the title, not Bama beating them 28-2 in one game.

1997 LSU lost to Bama 28-2 in regular season. A month later they beat Bama for the College World Series National Championship

I noticed the Angels won a game I think 25-1 vs. Colorado this weekend but lost the series dropping the other 2 games.

Happens in MLB as well. The quickest way to win after getting beat like 25-1 like the Angels did or 24-4 like LSU did is have a pitcher come out the next game and shove it down the opposing teams throat. Hurd, minus that 2 RUN HR did that for LSU for 6 innings vs. Florida.
