I don't think so, but it's always a risk with Lane.

The way I saw it he'd get us back in the 9+ win category but per history not be able to grab the hardware. Fans would sour and one day he'd leave in the middle of the night to coach USC or go to the NFL.

That's kind of how I saw Mullen and it worked for a couple of years. The difference with Lane is I think he can bring in better classes than Mullen could.

Either way it doesn't matter now. In my head Lane was an instant upgrade that would take us out of the sewer. I like Sumrall so far but you can't deny he's a crapshoot like Napier or McElwain were.
