Mickelson had the 5th most minutes on the Arkansas squad. He would have had the 3rd most returning minutes. While he would of course been a bench player, he was not processed. He left on his own accord and I think he would have contributed in some manner.

Good retort, ole chap.

If you aren't hurting for scholarships (Ark only has 2 guys committed) than you would definitely want the proven depth that Mickelson brings.
We need guards, not 6-10 guys who play like they're 6-1/150. We were full until this news. We can go out and get a guard now.

He played 16.6 minutes a game this year, that's a good deal of minutes
But you're talking about him getting minutes next year. Try to keep up with your own flawed argument.

You think he just suddenly decided he would rather have a degree from stAte (which is where he will probably end up)?
You don't know what you're talking about. There have been rumors about Mickelson being forced out for a while. I encourage you to step away from this thread.

And you're losing another big, it's not like a 6'6 transfer would have put a center on the bench permanently. The two freshmen arent playing 30 minutes a game either.

his minutes really got a boost because Powell didn't know how to stay out of foul trouble.
Like I said, his minutes would have been drastically cut because we have three post players coming in that will play over him.
He would be the Rickey Scott of 2013-14.

No one is saying he wouldn't have played at all. But is his absence likely to be significant? No.
His scholarship would be much more useful going to a guard.

A 6-7 transfer knocked him off the starting squad this year, so why wouldn't three better post players cut his minutes next year?

Wait so an LSU fan posted this??

Mickelsons only meaningful contribution on the defensive end dropped hard from 2012 to 2013.
72 blocks his freshman season, 39 his sophomore season.

You're right, a 6'6 SF type of player would have put a 6'10 guy on the bench permanently. Makes perfect sense.
Nobody is saying he would be a major contributor to the team next year, but for some reason you guys think him leaving is the same result as him staying. That's a blow to returning experience and a guy you could look to off the bench at times for scoring and height matchups. Players also get hurt. Never hurts to have depth.

Aslo, Mickelson played a lot early in the season, which inflates his minutes per game, but played much less later on as Clarke began stepping up.
Notice the downward trend in minutes played
In his last 10 games, Mickelson 0 points twice, 2 points seven times, and 4 points once.
I don't know what we will do without him!!!!!!!!

Arkansas - only team in SEC which loses a player who was Top 5 in minutes and points and gets better

If the 6'6 guy is better yea. Mick would probably get 8 minutes PG next year.

He's likely going to transfer to a sun belt school...if we needed him that bad we were screwed anyways
