The final 5 stars aren't handed out until the last month or so before singing day. They hand them out to the top 32 players to represent the fist 32 picks of the first round of the NFL draft. He's in the top 32, future 5 star, at on3 and rivals. He's #34 at 247 sports.
It's fair to call him a 5 star if half the recruiting services rank him as a future 5 star and one ranking has him 2 spots away from a 5 star.

Two examples in recent years of turning over a roster in short order. LSU and Tennessee both had major roster issues rectified within 2 seasons. It’s much easier now than it was just a few years ago.

auburn can afford NIL talent or a new coach, but they can't afford both. As usual auburn goes for the short-term patch instead of the long-term solution. High level talent only goes to auburn to get paid, not win championships.

Talent means nothing when the coach is terrible. Freeze had more talent vs Cal and Arkansas...and lost to both at home.
