Alot depends on who stays and who goes in the draft...

On defense we lose a shutdown corner in haden..our defensive leader in spikes...cunningham...possibly dunlap...and stamper (i believe hes a senior)

What does that leave us on D?
If both cunningham and dunlap leave...we will have to replace both starters at DE who were some of the best in the SEC...we have alot of depth on the line but alot of it is unproven...we will likely have Earl Okine and possibly William Green playing DE's

Our DT's will return and we have crazy depth so i expect to get great push up the middle.

Our LB core will be crazy talented but yet again unproven. Losing spikes hurts but we have many talented players returning.. i look for soph Bostic, Senior Lo Edwards, or possibly rFR Jelani Jenkins to fill that spot

In the secondary we still will be very stout. We will be returning Jenkins, Black, Hill, and possibly Wright. We are stacked in the 2 deep with guys like Dee Finley, Adrian Bushell, and Jeremy Brown. I look for either Bushell or Brown to lock down one of the other corner spots. However i wouldnt be surprised if one of the incoming recruits locks it down...dowling and shaw looked very good.

Overall our D will be very athletic but inexperienced in some spots. I think we have enough returning that we will be a top 20 D...I think our secondary will be good enough to make up for some of the growing pains we will experience breaking in new DE's

Offensively we could return most of our OL..this isnt an area of great concern being that we are extremely deep at this position and have recruited very well...

We lose Tebow, Cooper, Hernandez (most likely), and Nelson

Assuming the Pounceys return we should have a very experienced OL returning with great depth. Combine this with as deep of a RB core as you will see anywhere in the country with guys like Demps, Rainey, Moody, Gillislee (which i think will surprise next year) we should have a great ground attack

Everyone is well aware of the great potential Brantley has...however he will still be a first year starter so some growing pains are to be expected..He has been in the system for several years now and has had Tebow to mentor him the past several years..i think our passing attack will be much improved with Brantley at the helm.

Expect a much different offense next year.

Our WR core is littered with talent. However, once again it is unproven talent. We have been waiting for Thompson to explode but it hasn't happened to date. We will get a huge boost from Carl Moore who got a medical redshirt this year and also the return of stud recruit Andre Debose.

Expect Rainey, Debose, and Dunkley to rotate playing the slot. I expect Thompson to be our X receiver and Carl Moore will be that possession receiver that nelson was. We will have tons of speed at the WR position and i expect us to have a pretty prolific air attack. (assuming everyone stays healthy)

TE will be a question mark if hernandez leaves...it is being said that former OL Patchan will be moving to TE..he is 6'7 with freakish speed.

How will the season unfold?
I think we win the East....and rematch with bama in the champ game..i think we are a year away from making a natty champ game again... i look for anywhere from best case scenario 1 loss to worst case 3 losses.

just my 2cents....

You cannot put a price tag on experience. Bama will struggle to get to 10 wins as well because of the losses on D. I think next year may be the most wide open the SEC has ever been

signed 2009. Just saying Fla and Bama could surprise. Dont expect it but we werent suppose to be where we are this yr either.

I totally agree that one of them could surprise. I just think the SEC will be wide open next year. Everyone knew Bama was going to be good this year, and they had way more experience returning this year than most people say. They replaced a QB that's not asked to do much at all in their offense.

I thought our OL was going to be crap but they did pretty well, I knew qb would not be too big a problem but during the middle of the sched I was all over him for sucking it up.

might have to head out to gumpville for the game next year...had a great time in 05 despite getting blownout...stayed at the frat house and was driven around that night by someone that i swear was straight out of the movie animal house bc he looked like he was 40 but he was pounding beers and smashn them on his forehead while we were drivn down the strip...man was a lunatic

We will be fine... I would imagine we'll drop a game somewhere due to inexperience and a game to whoever ends up being the SEC powerhouse (Bama maybe?)

10 win season for us I think.

I agree man. I didn't say you guys didn't lose much, because you did. I said you returned a lot more than people are making it seem like though.

We will be a little bit better. Who knows in the SEC next year. There is going to be a lot of parity.

not like UF was bad that year, we finished 9-4, and lost in the last minute in 3 of those games. We had like 2 returning starters on D that year, next year's defense will be a lot better than that 07 defense

Short and sweet version

Florida coaching losses

HC, OC, DC, LB, probably CB coach as strong offered him a job as DC.

The team will be talented but it is replacing, leading receiver, leading rusher, starting QB, all american DE, spikes, shut down corner.

I said it on other forums and I'll say it here, Florida will be down but just how far down depends upon USC, UGA and UT. If those teams don't step it up perception will be Florida didn't drop off much, if those teams do step it up Florida could stare down the barrel of a 4 loss season.

It's hard to tell on Florida yet. Once we see who declares for the draft it will make a bit more sense. They could still lose the twins, safeties, etc.

At this point with the coaching changes and issues, losing Tebow and half their team I would think they'll lose about 4 games.

This year they had 1 loss but they had 5 games that were 10 points or closer. The Arkansas and Miss St games could have easily been losses. Considering they didn't dominate with their current team, they're going to struggle as they lose a ton of talent and some of these teams will be better. They don't have many tough road games but I just don't believe that a team that will be changing defensive coach, half their players, and their entire offensive philosophy will be very good. We saw what a huge turnover did to USC and they didn't have as many coaching issues or game style (Tebow to Brantley) issues to deal with. I think they're going to have a rough year.

Good post with some well thought out information. Experience is great but continuity is more important. If Meyer takes you guys back the SECC game then he will have done a very good job.

we are losing our HC? this is far from certain and you and i both know that

losing our OC? This isn't true as addazio will remain with the team.

the loss of strong will not be a huge loss IMHO..while a great coach..his schemes were often times very predictable and was said to not be a very good x's and o's coach...the alabama players after the champ game said similar things about our D

losing bedford will be a big loss..but isn't going to make or break our program

meyer has a great track record for bringing in great coaches that mesh well with his current staff...we have had to replace our RB coach, CO DC and DL Coach...TE Coach...OC..in the past few years and honestly have not missed a beat..i don't see that changing

Regarding our D being like the 07 D....In no way will our D be that bad...we replaced nearly our entire D going into 07...although we lose key parts in 2010 such as haden spikes and dunlap...this is not going to make or break our D...will we have a drop off..absolutely...will those key losses drop us from a top 5 D to one of the worst D's in the nation like in 07...heck no!!! As i said in my previous post, i look for us to have a top 25 D.
